Internal Audit, Risk Consulting - Financial Services - Senior Consultant or Manager

The opportunity

Looking for a role where you can build your career, work with leading Financial Services organisations, and make a real difference?

Join EY's Financial Services Internal Audit team and help some of Australia's largest banks, insurers, super funds, wealth managers and asset managers navigate change, manage risk and build trust with their customers.

This isn't just about compliance. We help organisations improve how they operate, strengthen governance and risk management, respond to evolving regulation, and make better business decisions. The work we do influences executives, Boards and key stakeholders, helping organisations protect customers and achieve their long-term goals.

You'll work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative, supportive team that values fresh ideas, continuous learning and professional growth. We believe great work happens when people feel empowered, challenged and connected.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver internal audit and risk engagements from planning through to reporting across compliance, operational, financial, technology and strategic risk areas.
  • Work directly with clients to understand how their businesses operate, identify risks and assess the effectiveness of key controls.
  • Provide practical recommendations that help clients strengthen processes, improve outcomes and manage regulatory requirements.
  • Coach and support junior team members, helping them develop their skills and confidence.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging risks, regulatory developments and new technologies, bringing fresh insights to our clients and engagement teams.

Join a supportive, inclusive and collaborative culture where your ideas matter, your contributions are recognised, and your development is a priority.

Skills and attributes for success

We're interested in people who are curious, collaborative and motivated to make an impact.

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent qualification).
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CA, CIA, CISA, CISM, CISSP, CBCP or CIPP (or a desire to work towards them).
  • Experience delivering projects or engagements from start to finish, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in Financial Services or other highly regulated environments.
  • An understanding of risk management, governance, compliance and control frameworks.
  • The ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • A growth mindset, willingness to learn and genuine curiosity about emerging risks, technology and industry developments.
  • A collaborative approach and desire to contribute to a positive team culture.

Don't tick every box? That's okay.

We're looking for people with potential, curiosity and a willingness to learn. If this opportunity excites you and aligns with your career aspirations, we'd love to hear from you.
