The opportunity

We are actively seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Cybersecurity team specifically the Data Privacy and Protection and Strategy Team. You’ll work alongside respected industry professionals, learning about and applying leading practices to better manage people, processes and technology capabilities within the data protection and privacy domains. You’ll gain insights into the design and operations of data privacy and protection programs and strategies in a variety of industries and learn how to design measurable, sustainable programs to keep up with the constantly evolving privacy landscape.

This position falls within our Consulting practice, which helps our clients enhance the effectiveness of operations functions by assisting them as they shift their emphasis from transaction-level control, processing and reporting to more value driven, decision support and analytics.

 

Your key responsibilities

As a Cybersecurity professional, you’ll deliver client engagements as well as internal projects. You will help clients gain insights into their privacy and information security programs and capabilities to maintain compliance to local and global privacy regulations while building consumer trust. Consult with privacy and cyber managers to determine the role of IT systems in an organization. Research emerging technologies to determine if installing them can increase the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness and identify any potential impact in privacy. Advise clients on managing their privacy programs to mitigate their business risks. Assess privacy programs and strategies using our proprietary framework, design solutions to remediate gaps or enhance maturity of specific privacy capabilities, improve measurements and monitoring, and develop sustainable processes to enable our clients to achieve business goals and mitigate their risks.

  • Appreciation for data protection principles and application of controls to protection confidential and personal data
  • Experience in implementing operational data protection processes, including PIA, ROPA, Incident Management and DSR.
  • The candidate should have experience in leading the delivery of project solutions to enable monitoring and testing of compliance.
  • The candidate should be comfortable working in an unstructured & complex environment requiring out of box thinking, logical reasoning
  • The candidate should be able to continuously add value to assigned processes and develop solutions
  • Ability to learn and understand the EY’s Risk Management policies as well as familiarity with other Risk Management initiatives outside of area of expertise
  • Ability to manage tasks and activities in a timely manner and be responsible for specific outcomes
  • Basic knowledge of project management tools and methodologies
  • Ability to keep confidential sensitive information
  • Strong research and communications skills
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks.
  • Interest in working with a culturally diverse team from around the globe to design, develop, and deploy programs and share knowledge
  • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with an inclusive approach

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Accountancy, or in Computer Science, Management Science, Information Security, Data, Business, Ethics or in any related field.
  • With 2 to 3 years working experience in the field of IT, security, and/or business management
  • Solid knowledge and experience presenting using MS Power Point, Excel and Visio.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.

 

     Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Knowledge and practical experience in:
    • Assessing client risk and compliance against privacy regulations locally and globally (e.g., PHDPA, BSP, SEC, DICT, EU GDPR, PDPA, CCPA)
    • Risk assessment on policies, processes and procedures with common frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, 27701, NIST, Octave Alegra, Nymity, PCI DSS, etc.
    • Designing or operationalizing functional privacy within or on behalf of a business.
    • Providing support of privacy enhancing technology (PET) or any solutions/tools to automate and manage privacy and strategy function, such as RSA, OneTrust, etc.
  • Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of data analytics methods.
  • Candidates with a recognised data protection/data privacy/information security qualification (e.g. CIPP, CIPM, CISM, CISSP, CDPSE, CPISI) or willingness to obtain the qualification in first six months with team would be preferred.
  • Experience on writing reports on findings and analysis of privacy issues.
