The Opportunity
Within our dedicated financial services practice (the Financial Services Organization, FSO), we are looking for experienced professionals in Transfer Pricing.
Our Tax & Legal practice for financial services in Belgium is growing fast, and our team members are dealing with the most diverse tax and legal matters. We have a large client base of top banks, insurance companies, FinTechs and asset managers both in Belgium and abroad, who we enable to achieve tax certainty and compliance through a whole range of services:
- Business Tax Services, such as corporate tax, transaction tax (M&A, …)
- Customer tax transparency measures: FATCA, QI & CRS
- Indirect Taxes such as VAT & IPT (Insurance Premium Tax)
- International Tax Services and Transfer Pricing
- Operational Taxes (Withholding Taxes, Financial Transaction Taxes, Tax on stock exchange transactions
- Technology-enabled services (net asset tax and withholding tax automatic calculation and reporting, breakdown reporting for funds and investors)
- Tax Technology and Transformation services
Key Responsibilities
As an Experienced (Senior) Consultant in our Transfer Pricing team, you provide competent technical advice to key players in the Financial Services Industry on transfer pricing and related international tax issues. You will work directly with the executive team. You demonstrate a pro-active, client-oriented attitude and will be directly involved in identifying new business opportunities. Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:
- Advising major financial services clients in relation to (inter)national transfer pricing matters;
- Assist in dealing with highly complex transfer pricing issues on a daily basis and write high-quality opinions on a variety of international tax and transfer pricing related topics;
- Devise, direct, and execute database searches for companies in Europe and foreign markets;
- Assist in performing economic, financial and accounting analyses;
- Participate in development of complex valuation models and tools.
- Assist in the review and design of transfer pricing policies, including transfer pricing documentation/compliance;
- Provide support in tax audits and litigation together with the Transfer Pricing team;
- Provide assistance with respect to tax ruling requests and advance pricing agreements (“APA”) together with the Transfer Pricing team;
- Attend meetings on an international level with key-decision makers, to discuss the clients' business and tax needs;
- Play a key role in maintaining an excellent relationship with a variety of top-class financial services clients and assist in supporting such clients with any questions they might have;
- Participate in and contribute to attaining team goals;
- Have the opportunity to go on assignments abroad and/or accompany Executives on in-country visits to broaden your international network.
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Master’s degree in economics, potentially with an additional degree in taxation
- Between 2 - 5 years of professional experience in Transfer Pricing
- Fluency in English; Dutch and/or French is a plus
- Strong analytical abilities
- Market and client focus
- Good project management skills
- A team player’s mentality with sound communication skills and a hands-on approach
