Next to our ambition to be net zero in 2025, we committed investing in services and solutions that help EY clients profitably decarbonize their businesses and provide solutions to other sustainability challenges and opportunities. The EMEIA firm-wide ambition is to be a leader in sustainability solutions, from strategy to execution.

Strategy and Transactions (SaT) is driving sustainability as a key strategic initiative across all EMEIA Regions. We are leading SaT solutions, such as net zero strategy, green infrastructure and sustainable corporate finance, as well as participate in firm-wide build outs. We have ambitious growth plans, including investments in new capabilities as integral part of SaT accelerated growth plan.

The role will report to the EMEIA Sustainability leader, focusing on go-to-market and the build out of the climate & sustainability solutions. It is high profile role in the path to partnership, with exceptional learning opportunities and ability to create concrete impact. The role requires strong track record in the sustainability field, as well as leadership, commercial talent and entrepreneurial attitude.

 

Your key responsibilities:

 

As a key member of a highly strategic team, fully dedicated to climate & sustainability, that sits across EMEIA in EY Strategy and Transactions you (with the team):

  • Support the growth of the Sustainability practice (Solution) within SAT and across service lines:
    • The focus will be on business development, support project execution (not full time), build up of commercial offer, solutions, thought leadership, partnerships
    • The team will sit at the centre of the sustainability ecosystem, within EY and beyond
    • Clients base will be large corporates, funds/PE, governments and institutions
    • Originate and drive sustainability solutions (go-to-market offers, partnerships, IP, thought leadership, etc.) across the EMEIA Regions and over time, own specifically sustainability topics end to end
  • Link with global and cross SL to align EMEIA SaT and leverage best practice from other Areas / SLs

 

Skills and attributes for success
 

  • Strong passion for the climate & sustainability topics. This is a mission-drive team
  • Relevant background in climate & sustainability (e.g. education, other work experiences)
  • Strong commercial drive and ability to pitch and execute projects
  • Leadership qualities to build teams but also to collaborate across businesses and with clients
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, e.g. meetings, action plans, follow-ups, roadmap, etc.
  • Entrepreneur, able to work independently, take initiative, work under pressure and deal with ambiguity
  • Cultural sensitivity and global mindset

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

  • Track record in climate & sustainability, leading at least 10-15 projects and 3+ years
    • Candidate should be able to list the projects and the relevant topics
  • Functional expertise across multiple sustainability topics, with priority in
    • net zero strategy and implementation
    • operations and supply chain decarbonization
    • sustainability and ESG strategy
    • nature positive
    • climate tech (hydrogen, CCUS, SAF, emerging tech)
  • Preferred experience in strategy consulting, leading teams across a range of sectors and type of projects
    • Multiple sectoral experience with preference in energy and industrial goods
    • Type of projects should include: strategy, transformation, operations, transaction, due diligence
