Our Software Strategy Group provides top-tier investment and acquisition guidance, strategy, and transaction advisory for the software sector. Every year we help hundreds of software companies and investors make crucial business decisions. On every engagement, you will work alongside our team of former CTOs and CEOs with deep software expertise to learn from the best.
Your key responsibilities
As a Senior Director at EY-Parthenon, you'll be at the forefront of building the Software Strategy Group’s practice for the long term. Your role will involve building trusting relationships with key clients, by leading and delivering high-impact product- and technology-focused strategy and diligence engagements.
You will inspire high-performance teams, fostering an inclusive environment that brings a diverse set of backgrounds to the table. You'll mentor and develop the next generation of consultants, building a talent pipeline that’s ready to support you as a partner. You will leverage the firm’s and your own consulting expertise and industry experience to deliver executive-level insights, guiding clients through complex challenges with clarity and precision. You will build and maintain strong client relationships, spearhead business development, and drive growth for both your clients and EY-Parthenon.

- Develop a network of client and EY relationships, managing dynamics to build buy-in and move work forward.
- Be the "go-to" expert for clients, partners, and account teams, driving new business and extending engagements.
- Enable decisions, actions, and results for clients, bringing together the right team to make a tangible impact.
- Lead diverse teams with inclusivity and integrity, role modeling EY values while developing the next generation. Manage, develop, and mentor junior team members from entry level to experienced Director.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- A bachelor's degree with outstanding academic performance and 8 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 7 years of related work experience, preferably with technology-oriented clients, or experience in a software or technology company in a product or R&D focused role.
- Experience managing M&A strategic diligence projects in complex environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams on complex assignments and develop individual team members.
- Strong quantitative skills to supervise data analysis, interpret output and generate insights.
- Ability to make detailed assessments of industry, products, markets, competitors and customers to identify risks and opportunities.
- Proficient in the English language, including the ability to listen, understand, read and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, in a professional environment.
- The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- MBA or related graduate degree with at least 3 to 6 years of post-graduate-school related work experience with a particular focus on client advisory or strategic planning within a professional services environment.
- Expertise in multiple software sectors (e.g., ERP, CRM, HCIT, FinTech, etc.).
- A demonstrated ability to lead teams on complex assignments and develop individual team members.
