Client Executive - Wealth and Asset Management | Professional Services Sales

The opportunity

As our Client Executive - Wealth and Asset Management, you'll lead professional services sales and account growth for one of EY's most strategic financial services clients. You’ll be at the forefront of driving growth, leading high-impact client engagements, and building senior executive relationships that unlock long-term value for both the client and EY. Working with clients, EY partners and service-line leaders, you will originate, shape and close complex consulting, transformation, managed services, technology, risk, tax, assurance and advisory opportunities. You’ll deliver exceptional client service by understanding your client's issues and challenges, leveraging the firm’s capabilities to originate and drive new business opportunities to grow revenue and deepen the customer relationship management.

This is a senior B2B services sales role. You'll build trusted relationships with senior executives across the client organisation, understand their business priorities, and mobilise the full breadth of EY to help solve their most important issues.

This role is best suited to someone who has sold complex professional services or consulting-led solutions into large financial services organisations. It is not a retail banking, private banking, financial advice, funds distribution or investment product sales role.

This is a hybrid position based in Warrang - Sydney.

Who this role is for

  • An experienced enterprise B2B sales, account growth or business development professional who has sold services into large institutional or corporate clients.
  • Someone with credibility in financial services, ideally across wealth management, asset management, banking, superannuation, investment platforms, asset servicing, capital markets or broader institutional financial services.
  • A relationship-led, commercially sharp seller who can work in a matrixed, partner-led professional services environment and bring senior stakeholders together around major pursuits.

Your key responsibilities

  • Originate, qualify, shape and close complex professional services opportunities, working with EY partners and solution leaders across service lines.
  • Approximately 80% of your time will be externally focused, actively engaging with your client(s). Additional time will be spent on sales strategy, pursuits and account planning initiatives
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders across business, technology, operations, risk, finance, procurement and transformation functions.
  • Lead pursuit strategy for priority opportunities, including opportunity qualification, stakeholder mapping, win themes, pricing strategy, commercial negotiation and close planning.
  • Mobilise EY's full breadth of capability across consulting, tax, assurance, strategy and transactions, alliances and managed services to respond to the client's most important business issues.
  • Champion the sale of large, complex, technology-enabled transformation and managed services engagements, collaborating with subject matter specialists to deliver innovative, client-centric solutions.
  • Maintain disciplined pipeline management, account planning, CRM hygiene, sales governance and win/loss reviews to continuously strengthen our approach across the account team.
  • Support consistent pricing, commercial and contractual frameworks across the account to enable sustainable growth.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Demonstrated success in enterprise B2B sales, business development or strategic account management, ideally within a Big 4, consulting, advisory, systems integration, managed services, technology services or other professional services environment.
  • Proven ability to sell complex services into large financial services clients, ideally across wealth and asset management, banking, superannuation, investment platforms, asset servicing, capital markets or broader institutional financial services.
  • Strong sales discipline across account planning, stakeholder mapping, qualification, pipeline management, pursuit strategy, win themes, pricing, negotiation and close planning.
  • Executive presence and credibility with client stakeholders across organisational levels.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, partner-led organisation, bringing together senior stakeholders and subject matter specialists to shape compelling client solutions.

Ideally, you'll also have

  • 10+ years of B2B enterprise sales, account growth, client relationship or business development experience, with a strong preference for professional services or consulting.
  • A track record of originating, shaping and closing multi-year consulting, transformation, managed services, regulatory, technology, data, risk or operating model opportunities.
  • Experience using industry, client and competitor insights to anticipate client needs and shape differentiated solutions.
  • The ability to lead and energise high-performing, cross-functional teams around strategic opportunities.
