Assistant Director (Senior Manager) – Financial Due Diligence (FDD), GDS
Role Purpose
Lead and manage Financial Due Diligence and Vendor Due Diligence engagements delivered by GDS, ensuring high-quality execution, strong project management, coaching of teams, and seamless collaboration with onshore engagement leaders. Responsible for driving technical excellence, quality reviews, stakeholder management, and delivery of transaction-related analyses and reports.
Key Responsibilities
Engagement Delivery
- Lead buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence engagements.
- Manage preparation and review of databooks, quality of earnings analyses, working capital assessments, cash flow analyses, net debt schedules and other transaction deliverables.
- Review engagement outputs to ensure conclusions are well supported by underlying analysis.
- Oversee report drafting support and consistency reviews between reports and databooks.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, coach and develop Managers, Seniors and Analysts.
- Allocate work across engagement teams and monitor delivery against deadlines.
- Provide guidance on analytical focus areas, issue resolution and presentation standards.
Quality & Risk Management
- Review the structure, completeness and relevance of IRLs and databooks.
- Ensure engagement deliverables comply with EY methodologies, quality standards and confidentiality requirements.
- Drive consistency checks, review comment resolution and quality assurance processes.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary GDS contact for engagement teams across MENA and other member firms.
- Participate in management discussions and internal review meetings.
- Support engagement managers and partners in resolving key diligence issues and delivering actionable insights.
Innovation & Process Improvement
- Promote use of transaction diligence tools such as RoboScope, Databook Automation (DBA), DDA and Copilot where applicable.
- Drive automation, standardization and process enhancements across FDD engagements.
Experience & Qualifications
- 8–12+ years of experience in Financial Due Diligence, Transaction Services, Deals Advisory, Audit or Corporate Finance.
- Strong experience in buy-side and sell-side due diligence.
- Deep understanding of Quality of Earnings, Working Capital, Net Debt, Cash Flow analysis and transaction reporting.
- Experience managing multiple client-facing engagements and cross-border teams.
- CA / ACCA / CPA / ACA / MBA or equivalent qualification preferred.
