Within EY-Parthenon Defence, you will play a critical role in delivering commercial, project management and corporate finance advisory services to the Department of Defence, helping to address some of Australia’s most complex and nationally significant challenges.

 

The EY Parthenon Defence team collaborates on a national level, and this particular hybrid position is based in Ngambri - Canberra.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

As a Manager, you will take a lead role in delivering high-impact engagements while managing teams and client relationships:

 

  • Lead the delivery of complex policy, strategy and transaction engagements, working closely with Partners and Directors
  • Manage end-to-end workstreams across procurement and commercial advisory projects, spanning capability acquisition, sustainment and upgrade programs
  • Provide strategic commercial, financial and contractual advice to Defence, including structuring transactions and supporting the mobilisation of private capital
  • Build and manage strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor within integrated contractor–Commonwealth teams
  • Oversee project delivery across both embedded client environments and virtual teams, ensuring quality, timelines and stakeholder alignment
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, contributing to team capability and a high-performance culture

 

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

  • Proven commercial acumen with 3-5 years’ experience in commercial advisory, transaction services and/or project management
  • Demonstrated experience leading workstreams and managing client engagements in complex environments
  • Strong background in procurement and/or corporate finance, ideally within Infrastructure, Utilities, Resources or Transport sectors, with a keen interest in Defence
  • Ability to operate effectively within integrated teams alongside government and contractor stakeholders
  • Australian Citizenship with an active Security Clearance (Baseline or NV1 minimum)
