Job Title: Manager – Business Consulting (Digital Transformation/Robotics)

The opportunity

We are looking for a Business Consultant to join the EY GDS Consulting team with a focus on Robotics, AI, and Intelligent Automation. As part of EY Consulting, you will lead strategic engagements for industrial clients, focusing on operational excellence, digital transformation, and optimization of business and operational processes through robotics and AI led solutions. You will collaborate with cross functional teams and stakeholders, gaining exposure to both the business requirements and the technology that enables them. You will leverage deep domain expertise and advanced technologies including Robotics, AI, ML, DL, and GenAI to deliver intelligent automation solutions, data driven insights, process improvements, and sustainable value creation. Prior implementation experience in Oil and Gas or Manufacturing will be highly valuable.

What you will do

• Lead the design and delivery of digital transformation solutions for industrial use cases across Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, Energy, and Process Industries.
• Develop and present strategic roadmaps for robotics and AI led transformation of industrial operations.
• Define and document new processes, ensuring alignment between business requirements and technology solutions.
• Apply robotics, data, analytics, IoT, AI/ML, Generative AI and cloud platforms to design, develop and deploy solutions that improve decision-making and operational performance for oil and gas downstream clients.
• Engage with clients across global geographies, collaborate with EY member firms and internal subject-matter experts, and maintain high-quality stakeholder relationships.
• Work closely with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and value creation
• Mentor and manage technical and consulting teams, build capability within the team, ensure delivery excellence and support knowledge transfer.
• Facilitate organizational change management for adoption of robotics, AI and intelligent automation solutions and capability building.
• Contribute to EY’s Digital Transformation practice through whitepapers, client workshops, and solution development and innovation initiatives.
• Support business development efforts by identifying new opportunities and shaping proposals.

Required skills & competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or equivalent).
• Approximately 10+ years of total experience across Robotics, AI/ML, Deep Learning, and Generative AI, with strong hands-on delivery experience in production and real-world environment.
• Strong proficiency in Python, C++, OpenCV, ROS, ROS2, Linux, Docker, PyTorch and Tensorflow.
• Significant experience in designing, developing, and deploying robotic systems or RL models in production or real-world environment, preferably for oil and gas use cases.
• Strong experience in applying AI/ML, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, and Reinforcement Learning to robotics or automation use cases.
• Hands on experience in development, training, validation, and deployment of ML and DL models in production environments.
• Experience in deploying ML/DL models on cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Solid understanding of LLM concepts including prompt engineering, fine-tuning strategies, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures.
• Strong consulting skills: problem solving, structured thinking, articulating insights and recommendations, writing high-quality client deliverables and presentations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills; ability to operate in a global, cross‐functional environment.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Master’s degree (Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or equivalent, Engineering Management, or equivalent).
• Experience working on Oil and Gas projects, with exposure to digital transformation initiatives involving development or deployment of ML, DL, GenAI, or robotics solutions, will be highly valued.
• Certifications such as PMP, AWS, GCP, Data Science, AI, or related credentials.
• Background in multi-agent environments or hierarchical RL at an applied or conceptual level.
• Hands on experience with data engineering and building data pipelines including ingestion, labelling, visualization, filtering, and post processing.
• Exposure to technical sales or pre-sales activities in robotics and familiarity with AI-based robotic applications.
• Experience in defining business cases, roadmaps and prioritization of initiatives particularly for digital, data and AI-led transformation.
• Proven ability to translate technical expertise into business value propositions.
• Willingness to travel and work with international clients.
• Prior experience with a global consulting firm (Big 4 or equivalent).
