The opportunity

As a Senior Manager – Program and Transformation Assurance, you will play a pivotal role in providing independent assurance over large, complex transformation programs, helping clients increase delivery confidence and realize their strategic objectives. You will lead and steer assurance engagements across multi‑stream initiatives, combining strong program management discipline with an assurance mindset to identify risks early, strengthen governance, and support effective executive decision‑making.

Working closely with senior client stakeholders, you will act as a trusted advisor, translating complex delivery, technology, and organizational risks into clear, pragmatic recommendations. Your work will span the full transformation lifecycle, assessing governance, processes, systems, and controls across technology, people, and operations. In this role, you will also lead and develop high‑performing teams, contribute to the evolution of EY’s Transformation Assurance capabilities, and help position the offering as a trusted, independent enabler of successful transformations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide independent assurance over large business and technology transformations, especially triggered by ERP Changes, Data and AI, Supply Chain, IPOs, Regulations etc. distinct from delivery and PMO functions
  • Assess transformation risk across design, delivery, and outcomes using a structured, multidimensional risk lens, and conduct deep dives on high-risk areas. (e.g. data transformation, migration, testing, cutover, dependency management, security)
  • Define and execute transformation assurance objectives, scope, and procedures tailored to complex, multistream initiatives.
  • Conduct independent reviews of processes, data and systems, security and controls to identify material risks, issues, including impacts on process improvement, financial reporting, compliance, operational performance, and benefits realization combined with best practices and industry standards.
  • Design and operate effective governance frameworks, delivery models, and assurance checkpoints to support executive decisionmaking
  • Support golive and phased deployment decisions through evidencebased assurance insights
  • Assess audit readiness of transformed environments and implications for statutory and external audit
  • Embed assurance and risk considerations into transformation programs across the endtoend lifecycle, reducing downstream audit and remediation exposure.
  • Act as a trusted assurance advisor to senior client stakeholders, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and risk appetite
  • Communicate clearly and independently on complex issues, key risks, trade-offs, and articulate tangible and proportionate recommendations to Senior leadership, Steering Committees and governance forums.
  • Coordinate and align crossfunctional teams around common assurance standards and expectations
  • Lead, coach, and align cross-functional teams around common delivery standards, fostering accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify, shape new business opportunities and execute go-to-market strategies that position Transformation Assurance as a trusted, independent offering—bringing confidence to transformation programs through early involvement, risk insight, and value realization. 
  • Engage with alliance partnersto strengthen relationships, gain insights into client needs and market developments, and identify opportunities for joint value creation. 

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • 8+ years’ experience in assurance, audit, risk, or transformation roles within complex organisations
  • Proven experience performing testing, governing and providing assurance over largescale transformation or ERP programs in the fields of finance, tax, AI or technology, including proficiency in benefits realization.
  • Experience in ERP or EPM implementation projects, with a focus on finance transformation (such as implementation of SAP S/4, Oracle Fusion, Microsoft Dynamics OneStream, Oracle HFM, SAP GR) is a plus
  • Strong understanding of finance processes, principles, and best practices, with experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of transformation risk across business, technology, controls, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess programs beyond timeline and budget metrics.
  • Experience assessing audit readiness and regulatory implications of transformed systems.
  • Design and embed transformation governance and independent assurance frameworks, including stage gates and QA controls, for complex programs.
  • Proven capability in identifying systemic, crossworkstream risks.
  • Strong analytical and judgment skills applied in highexposure environments.
  • Experience working with stakeholders across finance, IT, PMO, and audit.
  • Ability to challenge clients and delivery teams constructively while maintaining independence requirements.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-driven business developer; builds visibility, cultivates relationships, and shapes opportunities with senior clients.
  • Experience operating in environments with high regulatory, audit, or public scrutiny
  • A strategic and forward-thinking mindset, with the ability to align internal capabilities to emerging client needs in complex, cross-functional contexts.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-driven business developer; builds visibility, cultivates relationships, and shapes opportunities with senior clients.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., SAP certifications, CPA, CMA, PMP) are a plus.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in German and/or French is desirable.
