Senior Consultant - Technology Strategy & Transformation - Financial Services

The opportunity

Our Financial Services Technology Strategy & Transformation team supports leading financial institutions in defining, designing and delivering large-scale business and technology transformation programmes.

As a Senior Consultant, you will work at the intersection of business, technology and transformation, helping clients navigate complex change initiatives across banking, wealth management and financial services. You will support engagements from strategy and requirements definition through implementation, testing, readiness and go-live support.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structuring complex problems, working with diverse stakeholders and translating business needs into practical transformation outcomes. You will contribute to data-driven transformation, platform modernization, operating model change and strategic programme delivery in a highly collaborative consulting environment.

Your key responsibilities

• Support the delivery of large-scale transformation programmes across business and technology domains within financial services.
• Facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders, subject matter experts and delivery teams to define business requirements, transformation scope, target processes and acceptance criteria.
• Analyse current-state processes, data flows and operating models and support the design of future-state solutions.
• Translate business requirements into structured functional specifications, process designs, user stories and transformation deliverables.
• Support data-related transformation initiatives, including source data analysis, data mapping, data quality validation, reconciliation, testing and defect management.
• Coordinate across business, technology, testing, implementation and operations teams to manage dependencies, risks, issues and open decisions.
• Prepare high-quality documentation, executive reporting, steering committee materials and client presentations.
• Support governance, readiness assessments and implementation activities to help clients successfully deliver transformation outcomes.
• Contribute to proposals, go-to-market activities and thought leadership initiatives within EY Financial Services Consulting.
• Coach and support junior team members and contribute to an inclusive, collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Skills and attributes for success 

• A degree in Business Information Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration with a strong technology affinity, or equivalent
• At least six years of experience in management consulting, business analysis, programme delivery, technology transformation or financial services change initiatives, preferably within Private Banking and Wealth Management.
• Strong understanding of banking processes, operating models and transformation challenges within the financial services industry, including core banking and data migration programmes.
• Hands-on experience working with business and technology stakeholders to elicit requirements, challenge assumptions and define practical solutions.
• Experience supporting data migration initiatives, including data analysis, data mapping, reconciliation, testing and data quality validation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail, data quality and clear documentation. Strong stakeholder management, communication and workshop facilitation capabilities.
• Experience identifying, designing or implementing AI-enabled tools, Generative AI use cases or intelligent automation solutions is a strong advantage.
• Ability to work effectively in international, cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
• A proactive, flexible and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to manage ambiguity in fast-paced transformation environments.
• Fluent in English, any other language is a plus.
