The Opportunity

 

Within Financial Services (FS) Consulting, the Risk team covers a broad range of functions dedicated to providing high-value, trusted regulatory focused audit and advisory services to clients. As part of the Risk team, the Prudential Risk team works with diverse financial services companies that range from major global banks to insurance companies and specialized private and regional banks. We support our clients with regulatory audit risk subject matter experts, tailored solutions in the identification, measurement, steering and monitoring of risks as well as with our expertise in implementing and meeting regulatory requirements in the field of risk management.

 

As part of our team, you will:

  • Be able to apply your risk management knowledge in banking and financial products
  • Focus on performing targeted regulatory audits for our FS clients in coordination with relevant regulators (primarily FINMA)
  • Expand on risk management insights within the financial industry mainly in financial risk areas such as credit, liquidity, interest rate risk, as well as in non-financial risks
  • Have the possibility to participate in consulting projects with a focus on regulatory and supervisory matters
  • Be encouraged to investigate new risk areas (e.g., data analytics)

 

What you should bring to the table

 

  • Bachelor's or advanced graduate university degree (Master’s, MBA, PhD) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, any other business-related field
  • Motivation to work on regulatory audits within multi-disciplinary teams, especially in the areas of primary financial risks (such as liquidity or credit risk)
  • Four to six years of practical work experience in a risk or finance function in the financial services sector focused on liquidity or credit risks, or in an internal / external audit function or consulting firm working in the aforementioned financial risk topics
  • A sound practical knowledge of FS risk management and regulatory topics (including the Basel framework and FINMA circulars) and an interest in further specializing in these topics
  • Motivation, flexibility and self-drive to constantly learn and acquire new skills and knowledge
  • Fluency in German and in English is a pre-requisite, with French as an added advantage
  • Swiss work permit, or ability to obtain a Swiss work permit (e.g. through EU citizenship)

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • Relevant work experience and an established network in the Swiss FS market
  • Experience with project management
  • Working towards or already completed a relevant professional qualification (e.g., FRM, CFA)
