The opportunity
Our Law Service Line supports financial institutions and financial services businesses as they navigate regulatory complexity, manage risk, transform their operating models, and pursue sustainable growth.
As a Senior Business Development Consultant focused on Financial Services, you will support the Financial Services Law practice in identifying and pursuing strategic growth opportunities across priority markets. You will work with lawyers, partners, and colleagues across tax, audit, consulting, transactions, and other service lines to turn market insight into client opportunities, compelling propositions, and commercially focused solutions.
The role is suited to a business-development or strategy professional with relevant experience in professional services, financial services, or another regulated environment, ideally involving international or cross-border collaboration.
Your key responsibilities
- Conduct market, sector, and client analysis to identify growth opportunities for the Financial Services Law practice
- Support pipeline development, account planning, and opportunity qualification with lawyers, partners, and relationship teams
- Coordinate proposals, RFP responses, pitches, credentials materials, and client presentations from initial brief through submission
- Connect Law with tax, audit, consulting, transactions, and other service lines to develop integrated solutions for financial-services clients
- Maintain reliable CRM, pipeline, and account information, producing clear reporting and insight for practice and regional leadership
- Track commercial performance indicators and contribute to go-to-market plans, sector strategies, and growth initiatives
- Help develop thought leadership, webinars, conferences, roundtables, and client seminars on regulatory, legal, operational, and market developments
- Support external market-profile and practice-positioning activities through relevant legal directories, industry platforms, and professional bodies
- Support regional integration and global-network initiatives across relevant international markets, ensuring consistent messaging and effective knowledge sharing
- Help position integrated legal, regulatory, and technology-enabled solutions that address client priorities in a changing financial-services environment
- Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and relevant market organizations to strengthen visibility and client engagement
Skills and attributes for success
- A master’s degree in management, business, economics, finance, law or related discipline ideally from a Swiss university, also supported by strong academic performance
- At least 6 to 8 years of experience in business development, strategy, consulting, or a closely related commercial function within a Big4 or professional services environment
- Proven expertise in pipeline and pursuit management, including identifying and qualifying opportunities, coordinating strategic pursuits, and supporting the development of compelling proposals and RFP responses
- Excellent financial and research foundations with the ability to conduct sophisticated market, client, competitor and sector analyses and translate complex commercial and financial insights into clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders
- Advanced command of Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to structure, analyze, and present complex information in a clear and executive-ready manner
- Experience coordinating complex cross-border initiatives and working effectively with partners, leadership teams, and multidisciplinary colleagues
- Sound understanding and exposure to financial services and regulated industries, with a keen interest in topics such as risk, legal, regulatory, compliance, financial-sector transformation and broader market developments
- Experience supporting practice visibility, market positioning, and external engagement, including through relevant professional, industry, or media channels
