The Opportunity

 

Within the Financial Services Consulting, The Risk team covers a broad range of functions dedicated to providing high value, trusted advisory services to clients. As part of the Risk team, the Quantitative Advisory Services (QAS) team works with diverse financial services companies that range from major global investment banks to insurance companies, asset managers, and specialized private and regional banks. We support our clients with tailored solutions and tools in the identification, measurement, steering and monitoring of risks.

 

As part of our team, you will:

 

  • Be part of the Quant and Analytics team providing consulting services to clients in the financial industry with a focus on asset and portfolio risk management projects
  • Assist clients in the development and design of investment portfolio risk frameworks and provide support regarding their strategic and tactical risk objectives across all asset classes
  • Provide guidance to clients regarding the development of sustainability risk assessment tools to measure and assess transition and physical risks in investment portfolios
  • Help clients and prospects in making the best use of quantitative data for investing and risk management as well as contribute to the development of new metrics and data products used by banks, insurance companies, and asset managers
  • Support our clients in financial risk management related challenges such as the review or development of firm wide quantitative models for measuring various risks like market risk, credit risk and operational related risks.
  • Developing your technical and social skills through internal and external training opportunities incl. obtaining professional degrees like GARP FRM

 

What you should bring to the table

 

  • A Master’s or PhD degree in finance, econometrics, applied mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering, or another relevant discipline with a strong foundation in quantitative methods and modelling
  • Understanding of key asset management and sustainability risk measures along with in-depth methodological knowledge of risk analysis with regard to portfolio management and ESG aspects
  • In-depth and profound knowledge of financial instruments across all asset classes
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to apply forward-looking concepts to financial market topics in a comprehensive and timely manner
  • A strong client service mentality and excellent communication skills
  • Good knowledge of programming or DB languages like VBA, MATLAB, Python, SQL, R and C# (or other) allowing you to analyse data, implement quantitative algorithms, and develop solutions
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to demonstrate initiative and a flexible working style within a multi-national team.

 

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • Experience or practical knowledge in statistics and predictive modelling with an interest in applying quantitative models to finance e.g.  systematic trading strategies, risk models, stress tests, asset allocation and time series analysis
