The opportunity


As part of a high-performing team, you will deliver exceptional client service — consulting clients on technology strategies, providing advice on how technology enablement, digital transformation and enterprise intelligence will enable their business strategies. You will work with clients on their strategic technology solutions, and support clients transforming IT organizations, operating models, and capabilities. Not limited to, but emphasis will be put on engagements centered on tech sustainability.

EYCarbon is part of the sustainability service offering and focuses exclusively on all business issues related to decarbonization (from strategy development, target setting and implementation to reporting).


Your key responsibilities


As a Manager, a key part of your role will be to actively establish and grow internal and external relationships. You will identify potential for EY and our clients, within existing engagements and develop these with your team members as appropriate. Similarly, you'll manage projects, anticipating and identifying risks within engagements and sharing any issues with senior members of the team. As a leader, you will contribute to our inspiring working environment and team, nurture our positive learning culture, coach and counsel junior team members to help them to develop.


You’re expected to engage in various topics to foster sustainability including the scaling of cloud computing solutions to optimize and modernize IT infrastructure and platforms, analysing, developing concepts of, and implementing of AI models, data mining, predictive analytics, and machine learning, or supporting the introduction of block chain/distributed ledger technologies. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Act as the day-to-day point of contact for clients and senior managers on projects. You structure and engage teams to deliver high quality outputs
  • Along with senior management, identify clients’ technology challenges and opportunities, shape, propose and develop innovative solutions 
  • Working in a team environment to assist clients in developing and implementing technology-based sustainability strategies, decarbonization measures, and climate change mitigation and adaptation plans
  • Leading sustainable business process re-engineering and transformation projects
  • Help accelerate our Technology Transformation growth strategy by supporting pursuits of new clients and engagements
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and EY colleagues, able to drive strategic discussions regarding business and technology strategies
  • Define and deliver transformational digital programs or solutions for our clients
  • Lead cross-functional teams or engagements with technologists, architects, developers, designers, business consultants, user researchers to build user-centric solutions, or change manage management specialists
  • Build strong internal relationships within EY Consulting and with other services across the organization in Switzerland and internationally
  • Follow our educational program to continually develop personal skills and capabilities, and support team members in their development

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role you must have


  • A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in the technology consulting domain, with a significant part spent on sustainability stakes.
  • Master’s degree from a reputable University with excellent academic records.
  • A passion for sustainability-related topics, information technologies, digital innovation, understanding of common industry standards, business practices in the domain and their applications for sustainability.
  • An entrepreneurial mentality and strong leadership skills with the willingness to generate, drive and own engagements.
  • Strong teaming and communications drive to lead and motivate others.
  • Customer-centric focus with an ability to structure and analyze problems in a systematic and organized way.
  • Excellent client management skills and the ability to work with clients to develop and manage an action plan.
  • An open-minded motivated personality willing to work in teams and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Can-do mindset, with a focus on high performance standards and ability to work in a focused and independent manner.
  • Excellent skills in both written and verbal English and German/French (both would be an advantage).
