AI Engineer Consultant / Senior Consultant - Assurance Advisory Technical Team (Zurich)

We are growing a new Technical Team within Assurance Advisory focused on the financial sector. Evolving from our Forensics technology capability, we are a cross‑service‑line engineering function that supports all Assurance Advisory topics, including Financial Crime, Sustainability / ESG, Accounting, Finance Transformation, and other Regulatory Topics.

Our mission is to enable tech-driven services by building tools, analytics solutions, and AI-powered accelerators that support assurance or directly help financial institutions and other regulated clients.

If you are a full stack engineer / AI/ML engineer who enjoys variety, solving real problems, and working closely with assurance professionals, this role is for you. We are looking for individuals with strong track records of delivering solutions quickly and the ability to engineer and own solutions independently.

You’ll help modernize the core of a highly established organization, driving innovation on high‑stakes projects with strong visibility both internally and externally.

Your key responsibilities

• Engineer & Architect: Design and build a scalable technical system, ranging from rapid POCs for go‑to‑market activities to robust, reusable AI accelerators and data pipelines.
• Translate Requirements: Convert complex financial, risk, and regulatory needs into practical, high‑performance technical solutions.
• Drive Adoption: Collaborate with interdisciplinary subject matter experts to ensure tools are effectively deployed and adopted on live engagements.
• Innovate: Stay current with state‑of‑the‑art AI research to continuously upgrade our technical assets and contribute to thought leadership.

What we look for

Must have qualifications

• Production‑grade proficiency in Python (or similar) with a focus on clean, maintainable code and software design patterns
• Hands-on experience building and shipping systems using LLMs (RAG, Agents, finetuning) or Computer Vision
• Full-stack mindset capable of owning the technical stack independently, from data engineering and API design to backend logic and light UI
• Ability to design and deploy scalable services using Docker and modern cloud platforms
• Strong background in STEM (CS, Math, Physics) with a demonstrated ability to tackle complex, unstructured problems
• Excellent English communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders

Strong advantages

• Experience taking ML solutions from POC to production, including monitoring, CI/CD, and performance optimization
• Deep expertise in the Microsoft Azure ecosystem (Functions, ML, Data Lake) or similar cloud architectures
• Solid understanding of SQL, data modelling, and pipeline orchestration
• Exposure to Financial Services, Regulatory frameworks, or ESG/Sustainability
• Prior experience in applied R&D or a track record of staying ahead of the AI curve
