Our Strategy and Transactions (SaT) team works with clients to manage their capital agenda to drive competitive advantage. As a Strategy and Transactions Senior (m/f) you'll be engaged in numerous transaction support services including the buy side due diligences, vendor due diligence, asset quality review, restructuring as well as independent business review projects.


You will be working in a cross-functional and cross-border team within EY which will often be supplemented with client personnel as well as other parties in the process (the target, other client advisors, strategic investors, financial institutions and others). As an influential member of the team, you'll help to create a positive learning culture, coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop. 

 

Your key responsibilities: 
•    Work on engagement teams executing Strategy and Transactions services which support key decision makers in developing and executing strategies for transactions
•    Direct the progress of fieldwork, inform supervisors of the engagement status, and manage staff performance
•    Identify specific transaction risks through historical analyses and discussions with target
•    Prepare and review detailed due diligence reports and databooks for clients, clearly communicating key findings, risks, and recommendations.
•    Conduct in-depth industry and company research to support due diligence efforts, including market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and identification of potential risks and opportunities.
•    Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial data and documentation
•    Contribute to business development efforts by preparing proposals, pitch materials, and client presentations
•    Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality work and professional development.

 

To qualify for the role you must have: 

•    Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting/Analysis or Business Planning/Financial mathematics
•    Minimum of 3 year of experience in the field of transaction support (preparation of due diligences), accounting, banking or mergers & acquisitions (Big4 experience is considered an advantage)
•    Diligent approach and dedication to all assigned tasks
•    Strong analytical and critical thinking
•    Great project and time-management skills
•    Ability to lead small teams and coach and develop junior team members
•    A strong work initiative and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas 
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Croatian and English 
•    Substantial MS Office knowledge (Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of data analytics tools (PowerBI, Alteryx, Capital IQ, etc.) is considered an advantage
•    Professional accounting designation i.e. ACCA, CFA is considered an advantage
