Job description
Climate Change and Sustainability Service (CCaSS) is a practice within EY dedicated to building a better working world by helping businesses respond to societal, environmental and economic challenges resulting from shifting market demands and the changing economic and regulatory environment. Our team helps clients in understanding and assessing the wider impact and outcomes associated with their organizations, activities, programs, projects and overall sustainability reporting in accordance with new EU regulation. We are focused on new developments in non-financial reporting related to CSRD, EU Taxonomy, ESRS and general reporting requirements which are being imposed in EU and Croatia.
We advise clients on managing sustainability risks, help them improve internal processes related to sustainability and in the preparation of reports on sustainability and related activities. In particular, we help clients manage risks to reduce costs through the design and implementation of systems and processes and maximize potential in areas such as climate change, health and safety, labor rights, non-financial reporting, supply chain and environmental management.
The opportunity
As a Senior in Climate Change and Sustainability Service, you will spend most of your time in assisting clients to identify, measure, and manage their business and reporting risks as they transit their organizations in respond to changing government environmental regulations and new trends in sustainability management and reporting. You will provide Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) expertise to deliver different ESG related services, and value creation projects for our clients. You will also work on educating clients on the new regulatory requirements related to ESG, CSRD, EU Taxonomy and support them in the non-financial reporting process.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will work as part of a team to develop project work and advise EY's clients on sustainability advisory and related services. You will play a key role in contributing to the growth and development of the CCaSS practice by taking operational responsibility and accountability for engagement team support and delivery.
Your key responsibilities:
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team across a range of industries, assisting organisations on how they manage and report on a broad range of sustainability and climate related risks and impacts
• Contribute to strategy, solutions, methodologies, analytical frameworks and tools to help clients succeed and navigate complex regulatory environments and manage stakeholder expectations
• Perform regulatory compliance checks (Local regulation, CBAM, EU Taxonomy, CSRD, and other upcoming EU legislative)
• Assist clients to develop and implement sustainability reporting, develop targets, and implement plans to enhance sustainability value for a broad range of sustainability topics, including diversity, waste, and environmental impacts
• Assist clients with implementation of non-financial reporting process, including application of CSRD, ESRS, EU taxonomy and KPI calculations
• Ensure work is delivered in a timely manner and in compliance with EY high standard requirements
To qualify for the role you must have:
• Passion, knowledge, and interest in sustainability and ESG topics
• Ambition to learn, advance and excel in knowledge and experience
• Curiosity and passion to learn and develop
• Teaming and orientation towards achievement of personal and team goals
• Between 2 and 5 years of working experience in a position focused on internal/external sustainability advisory and reporting (sustainability reporting; EU taxonomy reporting, sustainability transformation; sustainability strategy; sustainable supply chain, valuing sustainability)
• A University degree (preferably in ecology, engineering, circular economy, climate change, or other sustainability related discipline)
• Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice in area of technical discipline
• Understanding of the key sustainability issues and drivers and how they link to business value
• General understanding of sustainability reporting requirements
• Strong project management and personnel management skills
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills
• Proficient English language knowledge
