You will play a key role in defining the way our Wealth and Asset Management clients transform their business models to address their most complex reporting and technology challenges.
The opportunity
You will serve as the Competency Leader for the European Wealth & Asset Management (WAM) business area. This pivotal role encompasses practice management, client relationship development, strategic planning, and team leadership. You will be instrumental in delivering key performance indicators (KPIs), executing go-to-market strategies, and developing innovative WAM solutions for clients in the Wealth & Asset Management sector. Situated at the heart of EY GDS Poland, you will be a cornerstone of a function that significantly impacts our organization, our clients, and our people—thereby sculpting your own career trajectory.
Your key responsibilities
- Mentor and lead a diverse team of WAM professionals, fostering an inclusive work environment and encouraging professional development.
- Oversee the management of the WAM practice, ensuring the achievement of KPIs and continuous improvement of processes and services.
- Engage in go-to-market activities, to demonstrate the value and capabilities of our services to potential clients.
- Cultivate and grow strong client relationships, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions that drive client satisfaction and business growth
- Plan and execute go-to-market strategies that align with business objectives and market trends, positioning the firm as a leader in the WAM sector.
- Develop and deliver innovative WAM solutions that address the unique challenges and opportunities within the Wealth & Asset Management sector.
- Lead and inspire a diverse team, fostering a collaborative and motivating work environment. Ensure team members are engaged, supported, and aligned with the practice's goals and values.
- Act as a thought leader in the WAM community, staying abreast of emerging trends and technologies.
- Travel to customer locations as needed to support business development and client engagement activities.
Skills and attributes for success
- Proven experience in managing teams of technology systems and project management within a consulting or similar environment.
- Proficiency in Financial Sector tools, IT tools, and Agile methodologies.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop effective strategies, identify opportunities for increased ROI, and implement effective business development strategies.
- Experience in IT architecture and infrastructure design, sourcing approaches, IT process and cost optimization, and emerging technologies.
- Exceptional core consulting skills.
- Strong experience in go-to-market strategies.
- Ability to develop client proposals, project approaches, work plans, resource estimates, and cost estimates on client opportunities and pursuits.
- Experience developing offerings, solutions, and designs for product implementations.
- Passion for contributing to the growth of the practice.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and manage teams of diverse skills and backgrounds.
- Proven track record in building and managing a Center of Excellence within a consulting or similar environment.
- Good planning and organizing skills, with the ability to see the big picture as well as focus on details and ensure errorless delivery.
- Ability to work in a continuously changing environment.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Sectorial experience in financial services / capital markets, with domain knowledge on different asset classes across front office, middle office and back office for either or both “buy” and “sell” side of business
- Good knowledge on portfolio management, trade execution, data control and operations and portfolio administration
- 10+ years’ experience in People Management
- Capability to manage wide & international teams
- Excellent professional client-facing & communication skills, able to approach senior stakeholders using appropriate level of detail, terminology and fit-to-purpose communication
- English skill enabling to communicate in teams distributed across the world (B2+)
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Front-to-back process experience within Asset/ Wealth Managers: Portfolio Management, MO (Risk, Settlements), BO (Funds Admin, Reporting) and Process project topics: gap & process analysis, process optimization, business reengineering, STP (straight-through-processing), outsourcing
- Good experience in design, development, and test of systems/ interfaces (mappings) between external providers and financial systems (e.g. Market data, exchanges) as well as from trading systems to legacy systems (e.g. accounting)
