The opportunity

This is an opening to partake in a challenging and rewarding role within EY’s Enterprise Technology Sourcing Team. The Telecom Services and expenses specialist – supporting the Technology Sourcing Telecoms Team will be responsible for, managing telecoms expenses and resolving disputes with relevant carriers, building and providing spend reporting information, engaging with stakeholders (internal and external), and managing contracts in accordance with EY policies. This role will be particularly focused on technology requirements for telecommunications services, including WAN, Fixed and Mobile services

 

Technology Sourcing is part of the Global Sourcing Group focusing on the requirements from the Technology team and managing circa $1.5B of spend annually. 

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Act as Individual contributor and trusted business advisor - for financial management of the technology spend for Telecommunications services in our Telecom Expense Management (TEM) tool and from other data sources.
  • Working closely with business partners to minimize financial risks to the firm through an effective contract financial management.
  • Interface with main mobile and fixed telephony suppliers and resolving invoicing disputes with carriers across the globe, ensuring refunds and financial contractual compliance. 
  • Support the implementation of our pipeline of contractual arrangements which can be effectively ingested into the TEM tool, ensuring ongoing financial management.
  • Work with the TEM vendor and relevant EY stakeholders to support the implementation of new services and contracts into the TEM tool (collect legal and commercial documents, understand specific needs from business partners and transform them in requirements for the TEM vendor).
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Prepare and build relevant reports leveraging solutions such as PowerBI
  • Extract spend information from telecoms invoices, to prepare usage information for RFP’s and targeted negotiations for sourcing colleagues.
  • Support improvement in processes, policy, systems, management information and reporting.

  • Interest in telecommunications market
  • Awareness of current industry trends
  • Knowledge of mobile phones, voice technology, conferencing services, networking, and telecoms hardware
  • Understanding of key vendors and market positioning

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 3 - 5 years experience (preferred, but not mandatory) in a commercial or procurement role in the Telecommunication or IT sector, gained preferably in a global organization and/or in the TEM industry.  
  • Preferably Degree educated.
  • Fluent in English (essential), other European Languages beneficial.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including excel, power BI, and word.
