As a member of the Technology Business Management Office, this role will be responsible for conducting the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of our Apptio Technology Business Management models and processes; developing new reporting and analytics; and furthering the operationalization of the Apptio platform.
The opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic individual with a technology and financial management background to help maintain and grow our Technology Business Management strategy. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy and the drive to analyze, maintain, and leverage automation of financial data that supports a robust cost and chargeback model. This role will sit in the TBM Office and involves close collaboration with IT and Finance professionals at all levels within the organization.
Your key responsibilities
- Gather, validate, cleanse, and upload data sources to Cost Transparency
- Work with data owners to operationalize new data sources and assist with data governance
- Coordinate the automation of uploading data sources to Cost Transparency using DataLink
- Lead / coordinate the operational processes to publish monthly time periods within agreed to SLAs
- Automate analysis for stakeholders by creating user friendly reports
- Identify and resolve data gaps to clear fallout in the Cost Transparency models and processes
- Configure enhancements to the cost, budget and forecast models to improve allocations
- Build out Apptio operational documentation such as playbooks/runbooks, change management, configuration management, and incident management
- Serve as a liaison to Apptio Technology Business Management platform consumers in defining requirement to further expand services and capabilities
Skills and attributes for success
This position requires the technical skills to maintain our Apptio Technology Business Management platform with emphasis on Cost Transparency and Bill of IT. Experience as an Apptio TBMA is required. This position will need to be an excellent team player with an aptitude for understanding both financial and operational concepts/procedures for our technology organization. This includes operational knowledge of IT Infrastructure domains including Data Centers, Network, Server (Physical/Virtual), Storage, and Application Development.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- At least three years performing the technical work of a Technology Business Management Analyst in Apptio Cost Transparency
- Exposure to and beginner experience using Apptio IT Planning
- Familiarity with Apptio DataLink
- Exposure to and beginner data upload and reporting skills using TBM Studio
- Bachelor’s degree in a finance, technology, or engineering program
- Good to strong skills with MS Excel
Ideally, you’ll also have
- RTBMA or ETBMA certifications
- Experience working in an operationalized Apptio Cost Transparency environment
