The opportunity
The Super Region Data Risk Leader will drive the local implementation of cross-functional initiatives that mitigate data risk and operationalise data governance, driving aligned goals across Member Firms, Service Lines and enablement functions. The role will be based at our GDS Poland location, offering a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
The SR Data Risk Leader is an experienced risk or compliance professional with knowledge and curiosity for the canvas of data, technology, security and innovation risk. Confident to operate on a dynamic risk landscape, integrating global initiatives to deliver cross-functional activity within Member Firms and across Service Lines. Empowering and enabling the First LoD, the SR Data Risk Leader is a strong communicator, natural collaborator and is adept at managing a portfolio of multi-stakeholder activity.
Your key responsibilities
Take a leading role in driving the cross-functional implementation of Global DSO and aligned data and security program initiatives within Member Firms in the Super Region, connecting expertise from RM, GCO, InfoSec, CT/ET, Security and Service Lines to effectively mitigate risks across:
- Data Risk Management
- AI and Innovations Risk
- Retention & Disposition
- Technology & Information Security Risk Management
Develop local strategies to coordinate and effectively execute activities within the Super Region to:
- Identify and evaluate data risks at a SR and local level.
- Evaluate and monitor the presence and effectiveness of controls and data risk mitigation activities with the SR.
- Operationalise models to enable effective data risk mitigation in the First LoD, including initiatives across Accounts, Services and CBS functions.
- Enabling the safe and effective use of data within AI and technology innovations by coordinating agile and responsive risk evaluations from local teams to drive speed-to-market for internal adoption
- Coordinating SR response to emerging risks relating to AI, including emerging regulatory requirements.
- Enable the local adoption of tools and processes to enhance the governance of information and data across the lifecycle.
- Enhance the prevention, detection and response to data incidents, including Insider Threat events.
- Support and enable local RIM network initiatives to promote retention and disposition compliance by coordinating controls across the data lifecycle.
- Support and enable technology and information security initiatives to establish or enhance the technical controls to protect and govern EY Information.
- Champion and amplify training, awareness and communication initiatives to resonate with local teams and respond to SR requirements in developing the data risk culture.
- Be the go-to thought leader within the SR for DSO aligned topics, confident in engaging Risk and Business Leaders in the data risk initiatives, trends and requirements.
- Coordinate and shape local data risk appetite, strategy, prioritisation and delivery to ensure data risk approaches continue to mature across the SR.
- Provide a SR point of escalation and coordination for issues impacting data risk from across SF member Firms.
- Evaluate, monitor and enhance the level of data risk maturity within the SF, including evaluation of local resource requirements, skills gaps and development opportunities.
- Supporting EY professionals across Service Lines and within the SR to understand their accountabilities and comply with global standards.
- Maintain effective collaborative relationships with allied functions in the Area including GCO, Information Security, Technology, and Risk.
Skills and attributes for success
- Experienced professional in the delivery of risk and compliance for Data Protection, Data Governance, or Information Security
- An understanding of local data-impacting regulatory frameworks and their implementation.
- Proven track record of delivery, leading programmes that are cross-functional and cross-border.
- Effective and engaging communication, including the confidence to influence and inspire local leadership teams across business functions.
- Professional curiosity to explore a complex and dynamic risk landscape.
- Organisation, prioritisation and agility to respond in operational or project roles.
