Senior Finance GBS Strategy Execution Consultant

The opportunity

 

 As part of our EY GDS Poland - Finance Consulting Practice, you will help clients in their Business Transformation assignments from functional perspective. This includes working along with the clientele within the sub-competency Global Business Services (GBS). As a GBS (Global Business Services) Consultant, you will be responsible for guiding and supporting organizations in the establishment of their GBS function (PTP, OTC, R2R, FP&A). This includes providing strategic advice, designing operating models, defining processes and procedures, and implementing best practices. You will work closely with clients to assess their needs, develop implementation plans, and provide ongoing support to ensure successful GBS set-up and operations. Your key responsibilities

 

  • Strategic Planning: Engage and collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives and goals, and develop a strategic plan for setting up their GBS function. This includes conducting feasibility studies, assessing organizational readiness, defining scope and objectives, and creating a roadmap for implementation.
  • Operating Model Design: Responsible to design and develop GBS operating models that align with clients' business strategies and objectives. This includes defining the optimal structure, governance, and service delivery model for the GBS function, and developing policies and standard operating procedures(SOPs) based on the client requirements
  • Process Design and Optimization: Ability to analyze and capture clients' As-Is processes, identify areas of improvement, and design efficient and effective end-to-end To-Be processes for the GBS function.
  • Change Management: Provide change management guidance and support to clients during the GBS set-up process. This includes developing change management strategies, conducting change impact assessments, and developing communication and design develop and execute training plans to ensure smooth transition and adoption of the new GBS function.
  • Best Practice Implementation: Identify and implement best practices in GBS operations, including process mining, process mapping, industry benchmarking, leading tools and technologies(such as Blackline, HighRadius etc), and innovative approaches to service delivery.
  • Project Transition Management: Help lead and manage GBS set-up and process transition projects, including planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling project/transition activities. This includes managing transition risks, issues, and dependencies, tracking project progress, and reporting project status to clients and stakeholders.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted business advisor on GBS set-up and operations.
  • Compliance and risk management: Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal control requirements within the GBS.
  • Communication and collaboration: Facilitating effective communication and collaboration across different teams, departments, or locations within the GBS to promote knowledge sharing and drive cross-functional projects.

  • Core Consulting skills such as Data analytics and interpretation, applying structured problem solving skills and developing Market insights and intelligence
  • Good articulation skills is a must
  • Proficiency in English and German/French (oral and written)
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization
  • Capability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

  • Experience and strong knowledge in finance and accounting functions in at least two domains – Record to report (RTR), Procure to pay (PTP), Order to cash (OTC)
  • Strong understanding of financial reports and statements; Knowledge in Financial Consolidation
  • Working knowledge of GBS / SSC setup engagements. This involves hands-on experience in business process transition assignments and related activities
  • Ability to provide accounting advice and guidance on various process transition related topics

 

Good to have experience / exposure (the below skills are an added advantage for candidates):

  • Experience in IFRS implementation project(s)
  • Translate business requirements to technical language and model (good to have)
  • Good experience in Chart of accounts (CoA) design
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-intensity
  • Managing / supervising teams of people on project work
  • Open to travel (Domestic & International)

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • Master degree in Finance and Accounting or any other related
  • 6+ years of total consulting experience
  • 4+ years’ experience in Business Process Transition and GBS set-up
  • Business Finance Transformation
  • Exposure to tools like SAP, HFM, Visio etc.
