Senior Consultant with German – Energy Transmission Infrastructure

 

Location: Wrocław / Katowice / Warsaw - 2 days in office / 3 days remote

We are currently looking for a Senior Consultant with German to support leading German and European energy-sector clients on strategic and operational engagements related to transmission grids, cable infrastructure projects, and HVDC developments. The role is particularly suited for professionals with experience in project controls across energy transmission and grid construction projects, including cost, schedule, and quality management.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Support the full lifecycle of large-scale transmission grid, cable infrastructure, and energy projects from planning through execution and commissioning.
  • Provide consulting and project management support for transmission network expansion and modernization initiatives.

 

Perform project controls activities, including:

  • Cost management and project cost tracking
  • Schedule planning and monitoring
  • Quality management and assurance
  • Project reporting and performance analysis.

 

  • Support the delivery of transmission cable projects, including underground cable and HVDC infrastructure investments.
  • Monitor project performance against budgets, schedules, milestones, risks, and quality objectives.
  • Review and analyze project documentation, engineering deliverables, construction plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate activities among clients, engineering contractors, transmission system operators (TSOs), regulatory bodies, and project teams.
  • Conduct technical assessments and contribute to feasibility studies, project reviews, and due diligence activities.
  • Utilize project delivery and collaboration tools such as Primavera P6, CDE-Enterprise, Jira, and similar platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, regulations, and engineering requirements, particularly German standards such as VDE and DIN.
  • Prepare and present project reports, management updates, steering committee materials, and client presentations.
  • Participate in project visits, site reviews, construction monitoring activities, and stakeholder workshops in Germany and other European locations.

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in transmission grid or energy infrastructure construction projects.

 

Proven hands-on experience in project controls, particularly:

  • Cost management
  • Schedule management
  • Quality management

 

  • Experience supporting the delivery of transmission cable infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working on HVDC/DC transmission projects or other large-scale transmission network developments.
  • Knowledge of German engineering standards, regulations, and industry requirements, including VDE and DIN.
  • Experience using Primavera, CDE Enterprise, Jira, or comparable project management and project controls solutions.
  • Very good German language skills (minimum C1 preferred) and professional English proficiency.
  • High willingness to travel, including regular travel to Germany and project locations.

 

Ideally, you'll also have

 

  • Experience working for German transmission system operators (TSOs) or engineering companies supporting these organizations.
  • Prior exposure to large-scale German or European transmission and grid expansion programs.
  • Understanding of the German energy market, regulatory framework, and grid transformation initiatives.
  • Experience in EPC, owner's engineer, PMO, project controls, or infrastructure advisory environments.
  • Knowledge of underground cable systems, transmission network expansion projects, and energy transition programs.
