Product Owner
Job description
Product Owner
Location: Wrocław - 2 days in office / 3 days remote
Let us introduce you the job offer by EY GDS Poland – a member of the global integrated service delivery center network by EY.
The opportunity
As a Product Owner within the Product Incubation Team, you will play a critical role in shaping what digital products are built and why — ensuring they deliver meaningful value as EY modernizes its core ERP and finance platforms. Working at the intersection of business needs, user outcomes, and technical feasibility, you will help turn early‑stage ideas into clearly defined, value‑driven products that are ready to be validated, scaled, or stopped.
You will operate in fast‑moving, early‑stage product environments, leading discovery, defining product vision and scope, and guiding teams through rapid experimentation via proofs‑of‑concept, MVPs, pilots, and beta releases. From concept through validation and scale‑out, your product decisions—prioritisation, trade‑offs, and value assessment—will directly influence whether a product is scaled globally, pivoted, or retired.
Sitting within the Mercury Support Team (MST), you will collaborate closely with Engineers, UX Designers, Solution Architects, and global stakeholders across Finance and Enterprise Technology. You will balance innovation speed with enterprise realities, ensuring products are aligned to strategic priorities, grounded in real user needs, and positioned for secure, compliant, and scalable adoption across the firm.
This role offers a unique opportunity to:
- Shape greenfield and evolving products that modernize core ERP and finance processes
- Influence outcomes through early product definition, prioritisation, and evidence‑based decision‑making
- See products progress from experimentation to enterprise‑wide rollout
- Work in a team that combines startup‑style product agility with enterprise scale and impact
Your key responsibilities
Product vision, value & business case support:
- Define and evolve a clear product vision aligned to business objectives, user needs, and EY transformation priorities
- Translate complex problems into product outcomes, success measures, and value hypotheses
- Support the development and refinement of business cases by contributing product insights, assumptions, success metrics, and validation evidence
- Provide input to go / no‑go, pivot, or scale decisions through clear documentation and data‑driven insights
Solution definition & backlog ownership:
- Work closely with Solution Architects, Business Analysts and Engineering Leads to shape and maintain the solution blueprint, aligning business intent, user needs, and technical feasibility
- Own and prioritise the product backlog across incubation stages (PoC, MVP, pilot, beta)
- Balance value, feasibility, dependencies, and risk when sequencing and refining backlog items
Discovery, experimentation & validation:
- Lead discovery and validation with UX Designers, Engineers, and Business Analysts
- Define hypotheses, MVP scope, and validation criteria for rapid experimentation
- Use insights from user feedback, pilots, and metrics to inform scale, pivot, or stop recommendations
Agile delivery & cross‑functional leadership:
- Act as the primary point of alignment between business stakeholders and delivery teams
- Partner with Engineering Leads and Solution Architects to ensure product intent is clearly understood and delivered
- Participate in planning, refinement, reviews, and demos, facilitating trade‑offs across scope, time, quality, and risk
Transition to scale & continuous improvement:
- Prepare validated products for handover to delivery and operations teams, ensuring clarity on scope, roadmap, value, and assumptions
- Ensure product, process, and solution artefacts support secure, compliant, and scalable adoption
- Capture learnings and reusable assets to accelerate future incubation initiatives
Skills and attributes for success
To succeed in this role, you bring a strong product mindset, curiosity, and the ability to create value while navigating constant change in fast‑moving, product‑led environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- A value‑creation mindset, focused on outcomes, learning, adoption, and measurable business impact
- Curiosity and continuous improvement, actively seeking better ways to solve problems and refine product decisions
- Comfort operating in constant change and ambiguity, bringing clarity and direction as priorities evolve
- Evidence‑based decision‑making, using user insights, data, and experimentation to guide tradeoffs
- Strong collaboration and influence across business, UX, Engineering, and Architecture
- A pragmatic enterprise mindset, balancing innovation speed with governance, scalability, and global adoption
To qualify for the role you must have
We’re looking for a skilled and forward-thinking product owner who meets the following qualifications:
- Proven experience working as a Product Owner (or equivalent product role) in product‑led or agile delivery environments
- Strong understanding of ERP and Finance business processes, such as Record to Report, Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, or related end‑to‑end process areas
- Demonstrated ability to translate business and process requirements into clear product outcomes, backlogs, and delivery priorities
- Hands‑on experience collaborating with engineering and architecture teams to shape feasible, value‑driven solutions
- Familiarity with SAP‑based environments, including how digital products integrate with or support SAP‑centric ERP landscapes
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (e.g., Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse) and how low‑code solutions are used to modernize ERP processes
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to align business stakeholders and delivery teams around priorities, scope, and tradeoffs
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience working in product incubation, innovation, or transformation teams, where solutions are validated through experimentation before scale
- Familiarity with agile product delivery frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and working closely with cross‑functional delivery teams
- Exposure to SAP‑centric ERP landscapes and how digital products integrate with or extend core ERP platforms
- Experience working with or alongside Microsoft Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse) in an enterprise context
- Experience supporting global stakeholders and operating within large, regulated enterprise environments
- Relevant product or agile certifications (e.g., Product Owner, Agile, or similar), or equivalent practical experience
