Product Incubation Team - Engineering Lead
Job description
Product Incubation Team - Engineering Lead
Location: Wrocław - 2 days in office / 3 days remote
Let us introduce you the job offer by EY GDS Poland – a member of the global integrated service delivery center network by EY.
The opportunity
As an Engineering Lead in the Product Incubation Team, you will lead feature‑level engineering delivery for one or more product streams. You will be accountable for translating product requirements and architectural direction into working, high‑quality software, delivered at pace through rapid experimentation and MVP‑driven delivery.
Working at the intersection of product vision, solution architecture, and engineering execution, you will lead the build of digital products that modernize EY’s core ERP and finance platforms. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you guide a small sub‑team of engineers through build, test, and release readiness—while operating confidently in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments.
Sitting within the Mercury Support Team (MST), you will collaborate closely with Product Owners, UX Designers, and Solution Architects to ensure engineering execution aligns with product goals, architectural intent, and enterprise standards. You will help teams balance speed with quality, ensuring solutions are secure, maintainable, and ready to transition from incubation into scaled delivery.
This role offers a unique opportunity to:
- Own feature‑level engineering delivery from refinement through release readiness
- Lead and mentor engineers in product‑led, experimentation‑driven environments
- Shape how early‑stage products are built, tested, and hardened for scale
- Work in a team that combines startup speed with enterprise‑grade quality
Your key responsibilities
Feature delivery ownership:
- Own engineering delivery for assigned features, epics, or product components from refinement through build, test, and release readiness
- Translate product and functional requirements into clear, implementable technical tasks, identifying dependencies and risks early
- Drive clarity on definition of done, ensuring deliverables are working, testable, maintainable, and aligned to architectural intent
Technical leadership:
- Provide day‑to‑day technical leadership to engineers building the feature set
- Guide design and implementation decisions within architectural guardrails and engineering standards
- Conduct code reviews, promote sound engineering practices, and ensure implementation quality within your scope
Team leadership & people management:
- Lead and support a small sub‑team of engineers, providing coaching, mentoring, and hands‑on guidance
- Allocate work effectively, unblock delivery issues, and maintain a healthy team cadence
- Support individual development through feedback, pairing, and practical technical leadership
Agile execution & delivery management:
- Partner closely with Product Owners and UX Designers to refine requirements into buildable, incremental deliverables
- Participate in sprint planning, estimation, daily execution, and reviews, ensuring engineering commitments are realistic and met
- Provide clear visibility of delivery status, risks, and mitigation options to the Senior Engineering Lead
Quality, security, and enterprise readiness:
- Ensure feature implementations align with security, compliance, and engineering quality standards required for enterprise readiness
- Contribute to automated testing, validation practices, and robust implementation patterns
- Ensure feature work is documented sufficiently to support handover, support, and future scaling
Collaboration across the Product Incubation team:
- Work closely with the Solution Architect, Product Owner, UX Designer, and peer Engineering Leads to align delivery and integration points
- Contribute reusable components and implementation patterns where appropriate to accelerate future incubation cycles
Skills and attributes for success
To succeed in this role, you bring a strong delivery mindset, a curious and pragmatic approach to engineering, and the ability to thrive in fast‑moving, product‑led environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Product mindset at feature level – You understand how day‑to‑day engineering decisions impact user outcomes, adoption, and speed‑to‑value, and you optimize delivery accordingly
- Strong execution under ambiguity – You are comfortable moving from unclear problem statements to clear, buildable solutions, helping teams make progress even when requirements are evolving.
- Quality‑driven pragmatism – You balance delivery speed with maintainability, reliability, and technical soundness, knowing when to move fast and when to invest in robustness.
- People‑first engineering leadership – You enjoy coaching and mentoring engineers, fostering strong delivery habits, psychological safety, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
To qualify for the role you must have
We’re looking for a skilled and forward-thinking engineering lead who meets the following qualifications:
- Proven experience as a senior engineer or engineering lead, owning feature‑level delivery within product‑led, agile teams
Strong hands‑on engineering experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including:
- Power Apps (Canvas and/or Model‑Driven)
- Power Automate (workflow orchestration, integrations, error handling)
- Dataverse as a core data platform
- Practical experience building or contributing to intelligent or automation‑driven solutions, including exposure to Microsoft Copilot Studio or agent‑based patterns
- Experience working with Microsoft Fabric as part of data‑driven solutions (e.g. consuming data from Fabric Lakehouse, Semantic Models, or Fabric‑backed services)
- Ability to translate product requirements and architectural direction into clear, buildable technical tasks and high‑quality implementations
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, including code quality, testing, performance, security, and maintainability
- Experience collaborating closely with Solution Architects (including Power Platform and SAP/ERP architects) to implement solutions aligned with enterprise architecture
- Hands‑on experience supporting early‑stage delivery (PoCs, MVPs, pilots), while preparing solutions for enterprise readiness and scale
- Ability to lead engineers through build, test, and release readiness, ensuring deliverables meet agreed definitions of done
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Familiarity with DevOps and modern delivery practices, including CI/CD pipelines, environment promotion, release management, and operational readiness
- Experience operating in large, global enterprise environments, where security, governance, scalability, and resilience are critical
- Strong understanding of ERP processes and Finance domains (e.g., Record to Report, Procure to Pay, Order to Cash), and how digital solutions support and automate these workflows
- Hands‑on experience designing or integrating solutions within SAP‑based landscapes, and collaborating closely with SAP solution architects and delivery teams
- Relevant Microsoft technical certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate (PL‑400) or other Microsoft Technical Engineer–level certifications, or equivalent practical experience
