The opportunity

 

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Product Incubation Lead to spearhead the development and delivery of proofs of concept of cutting-edge innovations across our core finance systems. This role will focus on leveraging automation and artificial intelligence to enhance financial processes and drive efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, technology, and product management, with a passion for pioneering new solutions. In this role you will:

  • Work closely with Global Executive Leaders, Process and Product Owners to identify transformation opportunities and drive the development of business cases, transformation strategies and roadmaps.
  • Team with Functional and Technical team members to design innovative solutions that are fit for purpose in generating a great user experience and a significant return on investment in the form of organizational or process efficiencies.
  • Prove the viability of identified solutions by teaming with other members of the Technology organization to build effective proofs of concept that demonstrate the potential of each opportunity and collaborate with Functional leads and broader leadership to gain support and funding for move to production.
  • Transfer product POC knowledge, documentation and insights to the established Product Delivery team for them to harden, scale, test, and deploy any approved products deemed viable and funded by senior executive leadership.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement – Stays at the forefront of emerging technologies and proactively brings innovative concepts and solutions to the table, helping to drive continuous improvement across the Mercury landscape.
  • Ideation – Serves as a change agent of ideation by engaging Global Transformation Leaders, Process / Product owners, and other business and technical representatives in establishing a culture of innovation. Chairs/facilitates innovation sessions and/or hackathons with business partners to explore business challenges and engage / drive a broader set of stakeholders to think differently and contribute to innovation ideas that expand EY’s leverage of AI or other machine learning technologies.
  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis – Act as the lead facilitator with the Global Process and Product Owners across all Mercury/MST Product groups to ensure that there is sufficient understanding of the current and to be process for detailed solutions design.
  • Solution Design & Architecture – Design and develop innovative technical solutions that are user friendly, low in maintenance, fit for purpose and compatible with the broader Mercury / ET technology ecosystems.
  • Cross Team Collaboration – Team with counterparts in other parts of the organization to ensure POCs are grounded in EY Architecture standards, Performance requirements, Scalability, Production Controls, and other functional/technical considerations that need to be made as an operational stage gate for moving to full prod.
  • Team Management – Promotes teamwork and collaboration by providing the Product Incubation team with a clear direction, objectives and guidance to enable them to perform their duties responsibly, effectively and efficientlyEmbeds a spirit of learning and continuous development within the team to ensure continued professionalization of services are provided and fine-tuning of skills.
  • Quality Assurance & Documentation – Ensures that proposed solutions and resultant Proofs of Concept are properly tested and documented before transitioning to Delivery teams for broader hardening and roll out.
  • Proof of Concept Execution and Documentation / Handover for “Hardening” – Leads build and execution activities through completion of Proofs of Concept prior to handing over to established Delivery team for hardening and broader rollout. Related to this is the development of thorough documentation and knowledge transfer, sufficient for the Delivery Team to execute all remaining aspects of product delivery across the member firms and global organization.

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

  • 10+ years of experience in SAP with a key focus but not limited to FI-CO modules. Excellent understanding of RFC Function Modules, BAPIs, Tables and Views across the different SAP modules.
  • 5+ years of experience in Power Platform with a key focus but not limited to Power Apps, Power Automate, AI Builder, Dataverse, Copilot and Power BI.
  • Excellent understanding of agentic AI concepts and developments.
  • Excellent understanding of integration technologies, APIs, and protocols.
  • Knowledge of web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), programming languages (C#, Python, VB.NET, Vba) and relational databases (SQL Server)
  • Excellent knowledge of business processes with a key focus but not limited to Finance run in large business system environments.
  • Excellent knowledge of software development lifecycles and Agile methodologies.
  • Significant experience in managing staff in a matrix organization, from a variety of cultures, countries and time zones.

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

  • Creative and self-starter mindset with strong analytical and quantitative skills to operate without direct supervision on multiple complex projects and tasks, and their shifting priorities in parallel.
  • Effective listening skills and display openness to other people's ideas and thoughts.
  • Ability to deal efficiently with escalations, conflicts and difficult situations/people under pressure.
  • Strong influencing skills to collaborate effectively and efficiently across the global firm.
  • English language skills – exceptional written and verbal communication.
  • Flexibility to work out of regular office hours to cater to the global organization needs.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • SAP certification
  • Power Platform certification
  • Working experience in Microsoft Fabric.
  • Prior experience working for a large, global organization with a complex environment.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
