The opportunity
As a Phishing Intelligence Analyst on the Cyber Threat Intelligence team under Cyber and Investigative Services, the candidate will be responsible for an intelligence driven approach to identification, triage, and containment of phishing related threats. This position offers a unique opportunity to not only act as a front lines analyst but provides the opportunity to conduct proactive initiatives such a threat hunting and detection development within the phishing domain. This position will require a balance of traditional analyst skills and intelligence analysis tradecraft to reduce the threat to EY from phishing.
Your key responsibilities
The Phishing Intelligence Analyst will be the first line of defense against threats delivered via phishing by taking an intelligence driven approach to identification, triage, and containment actions. Significant time will be spent responding to phishing threats identified at EY through user submissions or self-driven threat hunting exercises while also maintaining awareness of the phishing threat landscape through intelligence collection. Secondarily, the Phishing Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for identifying trends or observed commonalities among cases to identify more proactive measures to detect or block phishing threats.
Skills and attributes for success
- Experience with phishing analysis
- Thorough understanding of cybersecurity principles
- Knowledge of how to conduct intelligence collection and analysis
- Attention to detail
- Technical writing skills
To qualify for the role you must have
- 3+ years conducting analysis within a cyber security related discipline OR
- 1+ year conducting analysis of phishing threats
- Experience documenting analysis findings in a succinct and informative manner
- An interest in conducting trend analysis with a big picture approach
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Knowledge of the Cyber Kill Chain or Mitre ATT&CK Frameworks
- A general understanding of email security controls
- A general understanding of how to approach Threat Hunting
- A general understanding of how to create detection logic
