EY GDS Internship - Junior Auditor with German

As part of our EY-Assurance Audit Team, the role requires the incumbent to proactively develop relationships with the global EY teams serving these engagements and supervise the delivery of GDS engagement management support activities.

 

The opportunity

 

We’re looking for individuals who are eager to develop their knowledge and skills in accounting and assurance. The incumbent gets an excellent opportunity to work virtually or directly with the engagement teams across Europe and develop knowledge of international accounting and assurance principles.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Gain comprehensive, hands-on experience in finance and audit and quickly develop alongside leading professionals in the field
  • Work on joint projects with colleagues from EY’s global engagement teams on a regular basis and develop productive working relationship with them.
  • Use state-of-the-art specialist analytical tools, including EY Canvas, EY Helix, EY Atlas and AI solutions
  • In this role, you will use tools such as Microsoft Copilot and EY.ai EYQ, EY’s private and secure generative AI platform, as well as other distinctive solutions that are often available exclusively at EY. AI at EY supports everyday analytical work, data-related tasks and the development of new solutions, enabling you to focus on insights, quality and tangible value for clients. We invest regularly in new technologies to create an environment where innovation is a practical tool rather than an add-on.
  • Perform and document assigned audit procedures accurately, following EY methodology, quality standards and instructions from senior team members.
  • Learn about clients, business processes and risks; identify and clearly report accounting issues while collaborating with senior and global team members.

Contribute ideas for improvement by comparing efficiency of review procedures performed across different clients.

  • Contributes to a positive team environment by demonstrating consistent commitment and optimism towards work challenges.
  • Develop knowledge of use of EY technology and tools to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery.

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

  • Strong interpersonal and good written & oral communication skills.
  • Robust logical and reasoning skills  
  • Team player, with the ability to multi-task, flexible and pay attention to detail.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and proactively implement onto new processes
  • German language proficiency at a communicative level (minimum B2)
  • 0 – 1 years of relevant work experience in basic accounting
  • Availability to work at least 40 hours per week
  • Ability to start working with us in December.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • Basis knowledge on MS – Excel Ms – Office
  • B.com Graduates with basic understanding of accounting and assurance concepts
  • Interest in business and finance.
