The opportunity

In order to make business development processes in EY Germany more successful, we support our colleagues from service line Assurance with our Assurance Pursuits Team Germany. As a team member, you will contribute to the development of our company and increase the chance of winning on the market by advising our partners and managers on the proposals and providing them with the materials and know-how they need for a successful tender process.

Your key responsibilities

Pursuit & Proposal Management:

• Independently end to end manage medium Assurance pursuits for the German market from the pre pursuit phase, proposal submission to orals preparation
• Act as the primary pursuits contact for partners, directors, and managers during tenders
• Structure and drive proposal timelines, milestones, responsibilities and deliverables
• Coordinate inputs from specialist functions and other internal supporting departments
• Ensure compliance with EY branding, quality and risk requirements
• Undertake market and client-specific research and analysis to support pursuits
  
  

Advisory & Content Contribution:

• Actively advise pursuit teams on win strategy, positioning, and differentiators
• Review and challenge proposal content for clarity, consistency, and client focus
• Support development of executive summaries, value propositions, and key messages
  
  

Stakeholder & Communication Management:

• Confidently interact with partners and senior stakeholders (German & international)
• Moderate pursuit meetings and proposal workshops
• Coordination with our pursuit design team
  
  

Process & Quality:

• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements in pursuit delivery
• Maintain accurate pursuit reporting and documentation
• Ensure lessons learned are captured and applied in future pursuits

Skills and attributes for success

Professional Experience:

• 5 years of experience in Business Development, Account Management, Pursuits, Proposal Management or Client Services, preferably in professional services
• Experience working with international and German-speaking stakeholders

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong project management and prioritization skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently under time pressure
• High level of ownership, reliability and attention to detail
• Strong PowerPoint and MS Office skills (template-based content creation)
• Exceptional work ethics and customer focus – be ready to provide support
  
  

Languages:

• German: C1–C2 (professional fluency)
• English: C1 (business fluent)

To qualify for the role, you must have

• 5 years of relevant experience in Business Development, Account Development, Pursuits, Proposal Management or Client Services
• Proven experience in independently managing medium to complex pursuits and proposals end to end
• Strong ability to work directly with partners and senior stakeholders in a fast‑paced, deadline-driven environment
• Excellent German (C1–C2) and English (C1) communication skills, written and spoken
• Strong project management skills, with a high level of ownership, reliability and attention to detail
• Flexibility to travel to Germany to manage our clients (10-15% working time per year)

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Experience supporting or working within Assurance / Audit
• Strong capability in reviewing and structuring proposal content, including executive summaries and key messages
• Confidence in facilitating pursuit meetings and advising teams on win strategies
• Experience working with international or global delivery teams
• A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to challenge content and stakeholders constructively

Technologies and Tools:

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office
• Affinity in working with power point, based on templates and willingness to develop in that field
• Affinity for managing and/or developing further pursuit-related solutions (AI and automation)
