Finance role within the Reporting & Analytics (R&A) team to support the Reporting Strategy lead managing projects and driving initiatives to achieve the R&A Reporting Vision and Strategy.

The opportunity

 

The Business Analyst role is part of the Delivery Pillar within the R&A Team. The role holder works for the Reporting Strategy lead that is part of the Essentials, My Business and Thoughtspot Products Team within the R&A Delivery pillar. The Delivery Pillar within the R&A is positioned as an ambassador to enable the Global R&A Strategy driving the roadmap of the reporting and analysis products through various strategic R&A projects supporting the broad global customer base and increasing awareness, drive towards ease of use and integration of the various organizational responsibilities, reporting platforms, like Essentials, and future reporting and analytics solutions.

 

The Reporting Strategy Team drives new initiatives and designs new solutions to support the vision and strategy of the R&A. The team works closely with the individual product teams, key stakeholders and end-users to identify the key and recurring business needs. Ensuring consistency across the existing new Essentials solutions and applying the same design principles is key. Consequently stakeholder management, project management and creativity to create and drive towards innovative solutions but also close collaboration with the technical leads to understand the opportunities and limitations of the available technology are key activities in this team.

 

This is a highly visible role also having interactions with Client Servers, Markets and BD, Markets Finance, PBFA and the different teams within the R&A – Customer Relationship leaders building the connection with the different functions as well as region/area Finance teams and the different delivery teams managing and developing the reporting solutions.

 

This role suits someone with experience in project management, data visualization, interest to work on strategic solutions between functional business requirements and IT solutions and driving change. A basic understanding of finance and analytics concepts is required. The person should be able to think strategically, demonstrate a pragmatic and can-do mindset as well as be able to build convincing presentations and story lines.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Support all activities around driving new Reporting Strategy projects and Initiatives
  • Design solutions that support the overall R&A Reporting Strategy and that are consistent across the different Essentials products
  • Provide input to the roadmap and the objectives of strategic initiatives
  • Review planned enhancements of Essentials solutions to ensure consistency and that the defined design and usability principles are met
  • Review/track customer engagement activities of the individual product teams and enable a regular exchange and learning culture
  • Support/prepare leadership meetings and regular status updates on key strategic initiatives
  • Collect and review business needs and turn them into designs and document requirements as input for the development team
  • Support and review the development process from a project management and functional perspective
  • Validate enhancements and remediated defects
  • Develop training or support materials and leverage the established communication channels (e.g. global communications, Yammer, build-in notification solution)
  • Support change management initiatives to increase adoption and overall usage and build and moderate communities representing the different account specific user groups

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

  • Strong communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience with project management
  • Ability to visualize concepts and data effectively
  • Basic understanding of the key financial business rules and the key source systems (e.g. Mercury, GFIS, Interaction, ARD/MDM and GRP)
  • UI/UX and requirement documentation (e.g. Business Analyst) experience
  • Detailed oriented, structural work approach as well as high-quality and consistency standards

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

  • Some experience in a reporting and analysis role within EY
  • Track record of providing excellent customer service, a quality improvement- and process-orientated professional approach
  • Creativity in solution design and flexibility how to best approach different user groups/profiles
  • Capability to effectively work in a virtual environment across multiple time zones
  • Skill to prioritize workload and deliver outputs within strict deadlines
  • Good change management skill set
  • Appreciation and respect of varying cultures – both corporate and geographical
  • Ability to work in a highly virtual team

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • Prior knowledge of key Finance concepts for existing R&A reporting solutions is not required but would be an advantage for this role
  • Ability to adapt to new environments in order to keep up with the changes to technology, tools and processes
  • Open minded on how to approach solutions, people and work styles
  • Ability for some international travel from time to time (<10%)
