The Power Platform Techno‑Functional Consultant is responsible for delivering end‑to‑end solutions on the Microsoft Power Platform by combining strong functional expertise with hands‑on technical implementation.
This role works closely with business stakeholders, architects and delivery teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions, while also contributing to configuration, customisation and integration activities across the delivery lifecycle.
Ko Tō Rourou | Your key responsibilities
Solution Design & Functional Delivery
- Conduct fit‑gap analysis and translate business requirements into functional and technical designs
- Define business processes, data models and solution architecture aligned to platform best practices
- Create user stories, design artefacts and delivery backlogs
- Support functional validation through build, SIT and UAT phases
Technical Implementation
- Configure and customise solutions using Dataverse, model‑driven apps and canvas apps
- Design and implement workflows using Power Automate
- Develop and extend solutions using plugins, custom APIs, JavaScript and Azure services where required
- Support environment setup, solution deployment and release management activities
Portal & User Experience
- Configure and enhance external portals using Power Pages
- Support UI/UX enhancements and ensure accessibility and usability standards
Integration & Data Management
- Design and implement integrations using APIs, connectors and middleware
- Support data migration, transformation and validation activities
- Ensure robust data modelling, security roles and governance within Dataverse
Client & Delivery Engagement
- Participate in client workshops, technical discussions and solution walkthroughs
- Collaborate with architects to ensure alignment with solution architecture and integration patterns
- Provide ongoing support during delivery and hyper-care phases
Quality & Governance
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, security practices and platform governance
- Support testing, defect resolution and performance optimisation
Ngā Pūkenga | Skills and attributes for success
Functional & Domain Experience
- Experience in designing and delivering business applications on Power Platform
- Understanding of end‑to‑end business processes (preferably grants, funding or public sector domains)
Power Platform Expertise
- Dataverse (data modelling, security, governance)
- Model‑driven and canvas apps
- Power Automate (cloud flows, connectors, integrations), Power Pages, Power BI (basic reporting integration understanding)
Technical Skills
- Experience with .NET / C# plugins, JavaScript and Power Platform extensibility
- Experience with REST APIs, Azure integration services and middleware
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, ALM and DevOps practices
Desirable Experience
- Experience integrating with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics FO)
- Exposure to Azure integration services (Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus)
- Experience in consulting or large‑scale delivery environments
