As a Data Migration Specialist at the Senior Consultant rank, you will play a key role in the delivery of data migration engagements for our clients. You will support the design and execution of data migration solutions, applying your experience across data migration, data quality, and governance to enable successful data transitions.
Working as part of a broader delivery team, you will contribute to planning, execution, reconciliation, and post-migration activities while collaborating with stakeholders to ensure outcomes align with business objectives and compliance requirements.
In line with client requirements this role is ideally based in our Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office, however, we are open to candidates applying who are based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland).
Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options. Below we have outlined the key responsibilities for the role to help guide applicants.
Ko Tō Rourou | Your key responsibilities include:
- Contribute to the end-to-end delivery of data migration projects, supporting discovery, planning, execution, reconciliation, and post-migration activities.
- Support the development and implementation of data migration approaches and deliverables across project phases.
- Translate business and functional requirements into data migration deliverables, including mappings and transformation logic.
- Assist in the design and documentation of data migration processes, workflows, and technical specifications.
- Work with senior team members to apply appropriate migration patterns, tools, and reconciliation approaches.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to support data governance, data quality, and data ownership practices.
- Perform data analysis to assess data quality, identify issues, and support remediation activities.
- Support compliance with data privacy, regulatory, and security requirements during migration activities.
- Provide regular updates on progress, risks, and issues to project leads.
- Contribute to team knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the development and reuse of migration templates, accelerators, and assets.
- Stay informed on emerging trends, tools, and practices in data migration and data management.

Ideally, you’ll have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.
- Experience supporting end-to-end data migration delivery, including planning, execution, and reconciliation activities.
- Exposure to data migration design concepts, including ETL/ELT processes and tooling.
- Experience building using modern data platforms and analytics tooling, including Microsoft Azure, Databricks, Python, and Power BI.
- Understanding of data governance principles, including data quality, ownership, and controls.
- Ability to analyse datasets, identify data quality issues, and contribute to remediation approaches.
- Experience documenting data mappings, workflows, and migration processes.
- Familiarity with ETL / ELT tools and data processing frameworks.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within delivery teams and with stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, with a focus on data accuracy, integrity, and quality outcomes.
- Ability to manage tasks and deliverables within defined timelines.
- Experience working with data platforms and cloud-based data solutions (desirable).
