The Managed Services/Outsourcing Category Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's outsourcing strategies and the relationships with third-party service providers. This role involves ensuring that all managed services activities align with the company's objectives, policies, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vendor management, risk management, and process optimization, as well as excellent negotiation and communication skills.

 

The opportunity

 

This role offers the opportunity to work across different EY enablement functions to develop leading governance and performance management processes with its managed services providers.  This involves bringing best practices and experience to create the most value for EY from its supplier ecosystem.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Develop and implement governance frameworks and policies for managing outsourcing relationships effectively.
  • Establish and maintain governance protocols, including monthly and quarterly reviews, to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of outsourcing arrangements, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and service delivery.
  • Define appropriate measures and metrics for performance management and ensure integration into contracts with suppliers.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of outsourcing partners to ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Strategically identify and confirm service credits and earn-back opportunities, enhancing the value delivered to the organization.
  • Serve as point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding outsourcing governance matters.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of outsourcing arrangements to identify risks, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk management teams to ensure that outsourcing activities adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Support and refine processes to ensure the accuracy of invoicing and performance metrics, safeguarding financial integrity.
  • Contribute to the negotiation of contracts and renewals with service providers, ensuring that terms are favourable and protect the company's interests.
  • Facilitate communication and knowledge sharing between the company and outsourcing partners to foster a collaborative working environment.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives and seek opportunities to enhance the value obtained from outsourcing partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain a risk management plan for outsourcing activities, including contingency and exit strategies.
  • Provide regular reporting to senior management on the status, performance, and strategic direction of outsourcing activities.
  • In tandem with EY procurement team conduct in-depth performance benchmarking and market analyses, both internally and externally, to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Mentor and develop team members involved in the management and oversight of outsourcing relationships.

 

To qualify for the role you must have

 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in outsourcing governance, vendor management, or a related field within a complex organizational environment.
  • Proven track record of managing third-party relationships and complex contracts.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and compliance requirements related to outsourcing.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and present findings to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
