AI Engineer

You will work with experienced architects, AI scientists and systems engineers to develop enterprise-grade AI applications for organizations across banking, insurance, manufacturing, energy and professional services. EY.AI – in this role, you will work in an environment where AI agents are part of the team and everyday project work. You will use solutions tailored to your role and team that help analyze data, generate recommendations and design solutions.

Your scope of duties

• Design and implement AI-powered applications based on LLMs and Generative AI technologies.
• Build and optimize Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), document-processing and enterprise knowledge-retrieval solutions using structured and unstructured data, vector databases and hybrid search.
• Develop AI Agents capable of interacting with business systems, APIs and knowledge repositories.
• Integrate AI solutions with client systems and enterprise platforms.
• Implement agent memory, context management and orchestration mechanisms.
• Evaluate and improve the quality, reliability and performance of AI solutions.
• Support the deployment and productionization of AI applications in collaboration with Systems Engineers.
• Contribute to proof-of-concept initiatives and rapid prototyping activities.
• Collaborate, support and share knowledge within the team.
• Stay current with the fast-evolving AI ecosystem, frameworks and development practices.

Our requirements

• Very good English language skills in verbal and written communication.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
• Experience developing software solutions in Python.
• Understanding of Generative AI and Large Language Models.
• Hands-on experience building applications using modern AI frameworks.
• Understanding of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts.
• Understanding of AI Agent architectures, tool integration patterns and interoperability standards such as MCP (Model Context Protocol).
• Experience integrating applications with REST APIs and external services.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices, testing and version control.
• Experience working with Docker and cloud environments.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

We will also appreciate:

• Experience with Python-based AI and agent frameworks such as LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, PydanticAI, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, Google ADK or Microsoft Agent Framework.
• Knowledge of Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI Service and Azure AI Search.
• Experience designing evaluation frameworks for AI applications.
• Understanding of agent memory, context engineering and long-context strategies.
• Experience building multi-agent systems.
• Experience developing AI solutions in regulated industries.
• Contributions to open-source AI projects.
• Interest in emerging topics such as Agent-to-Agent (A2A), reasoning models and AI safety.
