The opportunity
The Junior Consultant will support the delivery of monitoring services for a large reconstruction project financed by an international financial institution (IFI).
The role focuses on ensuring transparency, compliance, and proper financial and operational tracking of the project.
The consultant will act as a supporting function to senior team members, contributing to both:
- Project finance monitoring, and
- Project implementation oversight
Your key responsibilities
- Support preparation and regular updates of quarterly monitoring reports
- Consolidate inputs from multiple sources and ensure consistency and accuracy of reporting
- Track progress against agreed project scope, timelines, and milestones
- Review invoices, payment requests, and supporting documentation
- Assess contract amendments and flag inconsistencies or risks
- Support verification of alignment with financing agreements and approved budgets
- Monitor compliance with loan covenants and financing conditions
- Maintain and regularly update risk & issues registers
- Identify deviations, red flags, and escalate to senior team members
- Maintain project trackers, dashboards, and internal control files
- Ensure all project data is up to date and traceable
- Support coordination across stakeholders and workstreams
- Ensure documentation hygiene (structured, complete, audit-ready records)
- Support scheduling of meetings and preparation of materials
- Assist in internal quality control and consistency checks across deliverables

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to analyse information in depth, identify root causes, and connect details into a broader understanding
- Structured thinking and strong organizational skills
- High level of ownership and reliability in executing tasks
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
- Experience in accounting, audit, or financial control is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with financial documentation (invoices, contracts, budgets) is preferred

Salary: EUR 2100 – 2900 gross, although it may vary depending on your skills and experience.
