The opportunity


The Global Location Services and Incentives team (GLSI team) within EY focuses on unlocking strategic investment projects through its end-to-end range of location analysis, financial, grant and incentive services. EY GLSI team consists of 22 team members located in 6 European countries: Austria, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and the UK.

 

EY is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the role of Consultant – Incentives to support our dynamic GLSI team.

 

This opportunity has arisen due to the exciting growth and developments of the GLSI team and creates the platform for the selected candidate to work alongside experienced incentive and location experts on large scale investments defining the EMEIA landscape. 
 

Your key responsibilities


As a member of the EY GLSI team, under the supervision of our Manager - Incentives, you will have the opportunity to provide essential support and assistance to our technical experts in the following tasks:

 

  • Analyze and assess strategic investment projects, ensuring compliance with European incentive legislation and providing high-quality advice to clients.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of national / supranational policies and incentive regulations to facilitate strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on projects related to EU incentives and national regulatory matters.
  • Engage with clients to understand their challenges and provide tailored solutions that meet their needs.
  • Develop negotiation strategies with national authorities a notification approach towards the European Commission.
  • Draft ad hoc incentive advice, incentive applications, including notification forms, and complex business plans.
  • Prepare reports and deliver presentations that clearly communicate complex technical information.

 

Location & Travel

  • The selected candidate will be working from either our Bratislava, Budapest or Vienna office and may be required to travel (with prior agreement) to alternative EY offices and/or client locations.

To qualify for the role you must have

 

  • University education with at least a bachelor's degree in law or economics; additional qualifications in these fields would be advantageous.
  • General overview of European Incentives legislation is mandatory.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
     

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • Practical experience in the assessment of Incentives cases will be highly valued.
  • Understanding of the current EU strategies is considered an advantage.
