This may include the identification and management of stakeholders, leadership development, organizational design, training, cultural assessment and development, talent management, workforce strategies, and planning and executing key communications.

We are seeking a Senior Manager for our People Consulting Services practice. Your key responsibilities 

Project Delivery to External Clients:

  • Accountable for leading small to large/complex programs, delivering the defined scope of work within quality standards, timelines, and budget, and for achieving overall project/client success

  • Delivers solutions across EY’s People Consulting offerings, which include operating model design, organization design, change management, culture transformation, strategic workforce planning, talent strategies 

  • Has advanced subject matter expertise in one of the above People consulting offerings and advises client and team effectively.  Preferably change management related to large scale system implementations

  • Brings broad experience and perspective to solve complex problems, and seen as a trusted advisor to our clients        

  • Demonstrates growth mindset – consistently challenging the team/self to innovate and achieve the highest standard for delivery

  • Has a comprehensive understanding of project financials and can lead project set up and can manage project budget

  • Works to develop a broad set of client relationships between EY and client organization

  • Leverages thought leadership and leading practice to deepen client relationships/trust and the value we bring to our clients

  • Engaging, credible and comfortable presenting to senior leadership/executives, with ability to read the room, adjust as required for the discussion, and manage conflicting agendas/priorities

Business Development:

  • Experience with proposal writing for large multi-national organizations , (incl. oversight on end-to-end content development, QA, solution/deal reviews, orals prep, etc.)

  • Builds deep relationships and client understanding to proactively drive on-sell and expansion opportunities for People Consulting and/or across service lines

  • Demonstrates commitment to service quality and partnership, resulting in client’s trust/desire to engage for follow-on work

  • Demonstrates BD accountability/mindset-actively developing own business networks and identifying key relationships (at all levels) to nurture to bring on new opportunities/clients

  • Scans opportunities within and outside the firm to identify new trends and opportunities

  • Contributes to People Consulting sales with either new or on-sell opportunities

  • Builds and maintains an internal EY network, strengthening our relationships across consulting and further serving as a source of business development

Practice Development

  • Displays a sense of ownership and accountability in managing and developing our People Consulting practice

  • Has deep expertise in one or two technical competencies and invests time into growing and maturing that practice area, and serving as a go-to/SME for Partners and practitioners to rely on for expertise and solutioning

  • Plays an active role in service offering initiatives, bringing new, progressive ideas and ways of working to the practice

  • Assesses and identifies areas of our practice or service offerings that may require improvement and takes initiative to bring ideas to leadership team

  • Strengthens the People Consulting brand through client events, conferences, webcasts, LinkedIn, articles, etc.

  • Plays an active role in recruitment efforts, incl. referrals, events, interviews, etc. to bring the best talent to the team.

People Leadership and Teaming

  • Acts and shows up as an extension of the leadership team – invested in the practice, our people, and their experience

  • Accountable for timely and honest feedback to team members, effectively identifying and leveraging skills,  escalating performance issues as appropriate and investing time in coaching / development

  • Shows up with influence and impact, respected by junior team members, and proactively seeks to understand and address upwards feedback

  • Amplifies others, rewarding and recognizing teams and building a safe, inclusive and engaging team environment

  • Visibly supports EY values and culture, and sets the highest example of professionalism for team members and clients

  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence through awareness of, control, and expression of one's emotions; handles interpersonal relationships judiciously

  • Viewed as a mentor on the team (both project team and extended practice team)

 

General

  • Has already achieved outstanding professional success and are a seasoned senior consulting professional with experience

  • Flexibility and ability to travel 

  • Project management experience 

  • Experience managing staff on multiple projects and providing direction to team members 

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills 

  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills 

  • High level of motivation and a self-starting attitude 

  • Ability to think outside of the box, thrive on new challenges 

  • Strong work ethic 

  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines 

  • Has the ability to manage time and multi-task across our 4 quadrants of project delivery, business development, practice development and leadership/team management

  • Enjoys working in a dynamic and fast paced work environment that changes often

  • This role involves interaction with clients operating nationally and globally where fluency in English is required.

 

To qualify for the role you must have 

  • A degree and/or Master's degree with an emphasis in Business, Human Resources, Psychology 

  • Approximately 8-10 years of related professional services /  external consulting work experience 

  • Experience in the following areas: Change Management, Stakeholder Management, Communications, Organizational Design, Training, Organizational/Operating model design, Culture change, workforce planning

 The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $120,000 to $216,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and work location city.
