The opportunity

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a CMDB Manager to join our team and drive the optimization and efficiency of our clients' CMDB data. As the CMDB Manager, you will be responsible for leading, managing, and delivering results on optimization and solutions for CMDB.

 

Your key responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, and implement the CMDB & CSDM framework tailored to the organization's needs and requirements.
  • Develop and implement a roadmap to mature the CMDB towards a Service-aware CMDB, enabling businesses to design strategies and make cost-effective decisions.
  • Oversee the population of the CMDB with accurate and up-to-date information about IT assets, configuration items, and their relationships.
  • Utilize the CMDB dashboard to monitor the health of the CMDB and report findings back to clients.
  • Implement change control processes to manage changes to CIs and maintain the integrity of the CMDB.
  • Eliminate stale, orphaned, and duplicate CIs in the principal class through functional and technical processes.
  • Expert understanding and hands on skills to configure IRE rules, ACL’s, business rules, Integrations, discovery schedule and credentials.
  • Integrate the CMDB with other IT management systems and tools to enrich the data.
  • Establish and maintain relationships between configuration items to accurately represent dependencies and interrelationships within the IT environment.
  • Work with ITOM & ITSM and others product owners to ensure correct relationships between CIs, upgrades to plugins & platforms, and data consumption processes for ITSM processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to manage licenses for software and hardware by ensuring the right data is in the CMDB.
  • Establish and enforce configuration management policies, standards, and procedures to control the lifecycle of configuration items.
  • Develop and enforce CMDB governance processes to ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct audits and assessments to validate the accuracy and completeness of CMDB data.


Skills and attributes for success 

 

To qualify for the role, you must have.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in data modelling, data model design, object-oriented software design
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in designing and usage of relational databases, database normalization techniques, database performance optimization techniques.
  • Deep familiarity with the ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and CSDM design patterns to model IT use-cases.
  • Understanding of IT Incident, Change and Event Management processes.
  • Experience in process mapping, process discovery and process optimization a plus.
     

Ideally, you’ll also have 

  • ITIL service design experience

The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $110,000 to $165,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and work location city.
