  • Assist in preparing regulatory submissions, responses, briefing materials and progress updates.
  • Assist in maintaining effective working relationships with regulatory authorities and other relevant external bodies.

  • Develop, review and update market conduct risk management policies, procedures and governance arrangements.
  • Conduct or support examinations and reviews of banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions against applicable market conduct standards.
  • Prepare clear reports setting out findings, risk implications, root causes and practical recommendations arising from examinations, audits and assessments.

Consumer Protection Compliance

  • Assess regulated entities’ compliance with applicable consumer protection laws, regulations and regulatory expectations.
  • Analyse consumer complaints and related data to identify potential breaches, root causes, systemic issues and opportunities for control enhancement.
  • Work with relevant functions to support the timely and fair resolution of consumer complaints and conduct-related issues.

Compliance Monitoring, Testing & Risk Governance

  • Plan and perform compliance monitoring and testing activities covering market conduct and consumer protection requirements.
  • Develop key risk indicators and monitor metrics associated with principal market conduct and consumer compliance risks.
  • Assess evidence, document testing outcomes and track agreed remediation actions through to closure.
  • Identify and assess key market conduct and consumer protection risks across products, customer journeys, channels and jurisdictions.
  • Analyse client risk and compliance frameworks and recommend enhancements to governance, processes, systems and controls.
  • Support the development of proportionate remediation plans aligned with regulatory expectations and business priorities.

Engagement Delivery & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage assigned workstreams, coordinate with client stakeholders and deliver high-quality outputs within the agreed scope and timelines.
  • Present findings and recommendations clearly to senior management, CXOs and audit or risk committees.
  • Review the work of junior team members and support their coaching and development.
  • Contribute to proposals, credentials, thought leadership, methodologies and other business development initiatives.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Working knowledge of CBUAE, SAMA, Basel, AML/KYC, consumer protection and relevant governance frameworks.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements, assess operational impact and convert findings into clear, practical recommendations.
  • Experience analysing complaints, customer outcomes, conduct-risk indicators and qualitative and quantitative compliance information.
  • Strong report writing, presentation, stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills, including communication with senior management and audit committees.
  • Effective project coordination skills, with the ability to manage assigned workstreams and multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with attention to detail, professional scepticism and a commitment to quality.
  • Knowledge of MENA regulatory environments and experience with CBUAE, SAMA or other local regulators would be advantageous.

To qualify for the role, you must have
