Quality Assurance Lead

The Quality Assurance Lead will play a key role in driving Quality Engineering transformation within EY GDS by embedding automation-first, shift-left, and continuous testing practices across engagements.

Position Summary            

• 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance with a strong background in test automation frameworks and tools
•   Strong expertise in automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, JUnit, or similar
•   Experience in API testing (REST, SOAP) using tools like Postman, RestAssured, etc.
•   Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) for automation integration
•   Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with close collaboration across Dev, Product, and DevOps teams
•  Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner) and practices (good to have)
• •  Expertise in test strategy creation, test planning, and defect management
•   Strong knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript
•   Ability to define and drive test automation roadmap and quality engineering standards
•   Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
•   Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Roles and Responsibilities

• Essential           
•   Define and implement QA strategy, automation roadmap, and quality engineering practices
•   Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards
•  Drive test automation implementation across UI, API, and integration layers
•   Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and product teams to understand requirements and define acceptance criteria
•   Design and develop scalable and maintainable automation frameworks
•   Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing
•   Perform functional, regression, system, integration, and exploratory testing
•   Establish quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to track progress and improvements
•   Ensure proper test coverage, traceability, and risk-based testing approaches
•   Identify and mitigate risks related to quality, performance, and releases
•   Drive shift-left testing practices and promote a quality-first mindset
•   Define and manage test environments, test data strategies, and test tools  Conduct root cause analysis and ensure effective defect management processes
•   Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery
•  Ensure compliance with organizational standards and quality governance frameworks

  Technical Skills

• ►  Strong experience in automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, etc.)
• ►  Proficiency in programming languages (Java / Python / JavaScript)
• ►  Expertise in API automation testing (RestAssured, Postman, etc.)
• ►  Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
• ►  Knowledge of version control systems (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
• ►  Familiarity with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow)
• ►  Experience in performance and security testing (good to have)
• ►  Working knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) is an advantage
• ►  Performs feasibility scan and assessment to identify potential middleware to be used
• ►  Highlights technical, compatibility or performance issues following integration of applications or platforms on which they are used
•   Implements modifications to middleware or the programming process to enhance the integration and connections of application programs
•  Strong Experience on ASP.NET Core, MVC, Angular, TypeScript, SCSS, Json
•   Strong knowledge of JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5, Angular Material UI, Bootstrap, Flexbox
•   Nice to have experience in responsive web design using media queries
•   Strong knowledge and experience in developing APIs using REST protocol
•   Work with business analysts/consultants and other necessary teams to create a strong solution
•   Should have in depth understanding and experience of database technologies like SQL Server, Cosmos DB etc.
