EY-GDS: Business Consulting - Supply Chain & Operations – Procurement - Senior Manager 1

In today's rapidly evolving landscape, supply chains are undergoing significant transformations to meet the increasing demands of customers. As consultants in Supply Chain and Operations (SC&O), our mission is to assist clients in building enterprise resilience, enhancing, and restructuring their supply chains to navigate the challenges of a dynamic marketplace and value chain disruptions. We strive to improve the reliability, flexibility, and responsiveness of our clients' supply chains while simultaneously reducing costs.

 

The opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager with expertise in Procurement to join our Business Consulting Team. This senior role will involve close collaboration with Supply Chain Consulting leadership to scale SC&O-related opportunities, drive business wins, and deliver Source to Pay or Procure to Pay engagements, within the MENA region.

 

Key responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, you will be part of a team of professionals with extensive Procurement experience. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with business stakeholders at various levels.
  • Business Development: Collaborate with stakeholders in the MENA region to understand key business priorities, identify opportunities, and help the organization achieve revenue targets through effective business development activities.
  • Project Delivery: Lead client engagements related to procurement transformation including operating model design, optimization and technology implementation.
  • Thought Leadership: Provide thought leadership and strategic guidance on procurement best practices, supply chain optimization, and the integration of technology solutions such as e-procurement platforms, analytics tools, and automation technologies.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in procurement and supply chain management, including digital procurement platforms, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and blockchain applications.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a high-performing team within the Procurement domain, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentorship and Development: Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a high-performance consulting culture and enhancing the team's technical acumen in supply chain areas.
  • Risk Management: Maintain a strong focus on quality and risk management throughout all engagements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

  • Supply Chain Technology Proficiency: In-depth understanding of procurement processes, tools, and best practices, including digital procurement platforms, ERP solutions, and emerging technologies such as AI and automation.
  • Team Leadership: Experience managing large teams in a service delivery environment, with a focus on performance management and team development.
  • Innovative Thinking: Ability to develop and present innovative ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions to complex procurement challenges.

Qualifications

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor's degree with approximately fifteen years of related work experience, or a master’s degree with approximately thirteen years of related work experience.
  • Deep knowledge in Procurement and experience on:
  • Procurement strategy
  • Governance frameworks
  • Strategic sourcing
  • Category management across direct and indirect spend areas
  • Cost optimization
  • Experience working in Consulting and/or Global Business Services (GBS), delivering procurement solutions.
  • Experience in managing and leading large-scale Procurement transformation engagements and delivery teams.
  • Expertise in performance improvement, target operating models, operational excellence, business process re-engineering, and optimization.
  • Experience in pre-sales operations, including writing technical proposals in response to RFPs/Tenders and developing business solutions.
  • Strong leadership and presentation skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions with senior executives.
  • Functional expertise in ERP systems and tools such as SAP S/4HANA, Ariba, and/or Oracle, with experience in two or more full life cycle implementations focusing on the Procure to Pay value stream.
  • Experience in Supplier/3rd party audits.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Aris, Power BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Willingness to travel to the Middle East and work a Sunday to Thursday schedule, supporting MENA timings (11 AM – 8:30 PM).

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Certification in Procurement such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or Certified Procurement Professional (CPP), and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, and Ariba
