Your key responsibilities
Senior Managers in our U.S. Tax practice participate in and supervise multiple and challenging tax engagements as part of a team delivering high quality compliance services and innovative tax planning ideas for our clients.
Core elements of the role include
- Analyzing an evolving portfolio of increasingly complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights
- Identifying complex opportunities and risks related to domestic and international tax issues
- Providing technical tax advice and planning services to clients in a variety of industries
- Building long-lasting relationships with our clients, developing your understanding of their unique needs and requirements
- Supervising high-performing teams, sharing your experience and knowledge of leading practices
- Developing clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve our clients' tax activities
- Constantly developing your own knowledge, maintaining your status as a trusted advisor by monitoring emerging trends, technologies and practices
To qualify for the role you must have
- A bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting; or a graduate degree in tax or law
- A U.S. CPA designation or be an active member, in good standing of a state bar, or an IRS enrolled agent
- Over 7 years of related work experience including
- leading U.S. tax compliance engagements for corporations and partnerships
- U.S. tax provisions for public and private companies.
- technical writing and research in a tax context
- Proven project management and organization skills, and a successful track record of leading and managing teams
- The ability to communicate complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients
- Strong business development skills and ability to assist in new business pursuits.
- The ability to develop long-term client relationships and identify opportunities and risk to improve client service.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Extensive knowledge in a broad range of real estate tax or private equity tax technical and transaction skills, including partnership taxation, REITs taxation and qualification, partnership allocations, tax compliance, due diligence, acquisition or disposition planning and structuring
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional services environment
- A high level of motivation and drive along with maturity and a proactive, team-based approach
