The Opportunity
As a Technology Delivery Manager within our Banking Technology practice, you will be accountable for hands-on execution of complex Core banking technology deliveries for leading financial institutions.
This role is suited to an execution-focused delivery manager with direct experience bringing banking technology solutions into production. The successful candidate will have hands-on delivery experience across retail or commercial banking domains such as lending, deposits, origination, servicing, payments, cards, or digital channels integrated with core banking platforms.
This job posting relates to an existing vacancy within our organization.
Your Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Program Execution
- Own end-to-end delivery of core banking technology workstreams, with direct accountability for execution outcomes, milestone discipline, risks, dependencies, quality, and production readiness.
- Drive execution across core banking and adjacent platform initiatives including lending, deposits, origination, servicing, payments, cards, digital banking, integration, data migration, testing automation, vendor delivery, and production implementation.
- Orchestrate product, engineering, architecture, testing, data, operations, vendor and client teams — and actively hold them to committed deliverables, decision dates, defect closure, readiness criteria, and release outcomes.
- Identify and resolve delivery blockers across functional, technical, integration, data, testing, vendor and operational readiness dimensions, with clear options and decision paths.
- Run delivery cadences with intensity: daily execution huddles, sprint/release planning, dependency reviews, RAID management, defect triage, go/no-go readiness, executive escalation and recovery planning.
- Translate ambiguous client direction into executable delivery plans, sequencing, ownership, decision points, deliverables and measurable progress.
- Operate at the detail level when required by reviewing plans, understanding integration dependencies, challenging estimates, validating status and ensuring delivery progress is evidence-based.
- Demonstrate a track record of delivering at least one complex banking production implementation, modernization, migration, integration, or major release under tight timelines and executive visibility.
Architecture & Solution Design
- Apply enough architecture, integration and data understanding to challenge whether solution designs are executable, testable, operable and aligned to delivery timelines.
- Ensure solution decisions are not only architecturally sound, but delivery-ready: sequenced, dependency-managed, testable, supportable and implementable in a controlled banking environment.
- Drive architecture and design reviews toward decisions, trade-offs and delivery actions — not prolonged debate or theoretical alignment.
- Partner with architects, engineers and business owners to turn target-state direction into delivery slices, MVP scope, interim states, migration paths, release plans and operational transition plans.
- Understand practical delivery implications of APIs, batch/file integrations, data migration, test data, environments, identity/access, operational controls, resiliency, reconciliation and regulatory expectations in banking.
Client Advisory & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a trusted delivery lead to client executives and program leaders by translating business priorities into executable technology outcomes and making execution risks visible early.
- Lead decision-oriented working sessions that force clarity on scope, ownership, dependencies, trade-offs, readiness gaps and next actions.
- Build credibility with business, technology, operations, vendor and executive stakeholders by being direct, fact-based, delivery-oriented and consistently reliable under pressure.
- Communicate progress, blockers, risks, recommendations and recovery actions with clarity, using evidence-based status reporting and practical next steps.
- Constructively challenge unrealistic timelines, unclear scope, weak ownership, untested assumptions and vendor commitments that create go-live risk.
- Maintain the confidence of senior stakeholders while still being hands-on enough to know whether the work is truly moving.
Business Development & Practice Support
- Support proposals, RFP responses and solution design with credible delivery assumptions, staffing models, risks, dependencies, implementation paths and go-live considerations.
- Contribute to Banking Technology offerings by codifying practical delivery playbooks, reusable plans, readiness checklists, risk patterns, cutover approaches, testing approaches and lessons learned from real banking implementations.
- Bring practical insight on what works in banking technology delivery, including vendor-led implementation, agile-at-scale, systems integration, data migration, testing automation, production readiness and operational stabilization.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead onshore, nearshore, offshore, client and vendor team members with clear expectations, outcome ownership and timely intervention when delivery is at risk.
- Create a high-accountability delivery culture where teams surface issues early, solve problems directly and focus on measurable progress.
- Raise the bar for Banking Technology delivery capability by coaching teams on execution discipline, release readiness, client communication, defect management, dependency management and delivery leadership under pressure.
- Be comfortable stepping into unstructured situations, creating clarity quickly and becoming a trusted delivery lead for senior stakeholders.
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Proven hands-on experience delivering technology programs for banks, with preference for core banking, retail banking, commercial banking, cards, payments, lending, deposits, origination, servicing or digital channels integrated with core platforms.
- Hands-on delivery experience with several of the following:
- Core banking, lending, deposits, origination, servicing, cards, payments or digital banking platforms
- Production banking implementations, platform migrations, system integrations, major releases, cutovers or modernization programs
- Agile delivery at scale, sprint execution, backlog management, release planning, dependency management and delivery governance
- Integration, API, batch/file processing, data migration, reconciliation, test data, environment readiness and defect triage
- Vendor-led delivery or systems integrator environments where accountability, scope control and readiness discipline are critical
- Banking delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps or equivalent delivery management platforms
- Strong enough architecture and technology fluency to challenge plans, identify gaps, pressure-test feasibility and translate design into executable delivery.
- Executive-ready communication style: crisp, direct, fact-based, commercially aware and able to explain what is on track, what is off track, what decision is needed and what action will recover delivery.
- Ability to bridge business, technology, operations, risk, compliance, vendors and executive stakeholders while keeping delivery outcomes at the centre.
- Bias for action, high ownership, strong follow-through, high standards and comfort operating without perfect information.
- Comfortable operating in high-pressure delivery environments with compressed timelines, ambiguous scope, multiple vendors, senior visibility and meaningful production impact.
What We Look For
7–12+ years of technology delivery experience, including at least 3 years leading complex banking technology delivery workstreams or programs
Proven experience owning end-to-end delivery across design, build, test, integration, data, release, cutover, go-live and hypercare — not simply supporting status reporting or governance.
Strong track record driving workstreams to measurable outcomes in banking environments, including difficult stakeholder management, dependency management, vendor management and production readiness.
Experience contributing to business development and engagement management through credible delivery shaping, staffing assumptions, risk identification and execution plans.
Execution-first delivery leader who can bridge architecture, engineering, testing, business operations and executive expectations without losing ownership of the plan.
Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to create order in ambiguity, drive decisions, recover slipping workstreams and maintain momentum under pressure.
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge, escalate, simplify, align and secure decisions when delivery is at risk.
Demonstrated commitment to high-performing delivery teams, continuous improvement, execution discipline and practical innovation that improves delivery speed, quality, transparency or control.
Ideally, You’ll Also Have
Experience with Agile delivery, DevOps, release management and modern delivery models in environments where agile ceremonies are tied to actual delivery outcomes.
Deep knowledge of at least one banking domain such as lending, deposits, origination, servicing, cards, payments, retail banking, commercial banking or digital channels.
Experience in large-scale transformation programs with multiple vendors, system integrators, internal technology teams, business owners, risk/compliance stakeholders and production readiness gates.
Experience with CORE banking vendors/platform ecosystems such as Temenos, Finastra, FIS, Fiserv, HPS/PowerCARD, nCino, Mambu, Thought Machine or comparable banking platforms.
Experience in retail banking transformation, lending modernization, card migration, customer onboarding/origination transformation, servicing modernization, payments modernization or digital channel implementation.
