The opportunity

 

The role of a Digital Grid Senior will be to provide consulting services to Power & Utilities clients at the intersection of customer strategy, digital grid modernization, and technology enablement. You will support clients in shaping and implementing digital grid programs, capabilities and systems (AMI, ADMS, OMS, SCADA, DRMS, DERMS, EMS, GIS, EV charging/electrification, DSM/DER programs, CIS/CRM modernization), resulting in improved customer outcomes, electrification readiness, enterprise capabilities, regulatory alignment and operational efficiency.

Your key responsibilities

  • Provide functional and/or technical experience and insights on customer-centric digital grid transformation, including capability models, architecture direction, operating model considerations, business cases and vendor/evaluation support
  • Provide strategic and tactical insights, connectedness and responsiveness to all clients to help anticipate their needs
  • Lead development of solution evaluation criteria, RFP support, vendor assessment activities, demos, and selection recommendations
  • Lead/manage workstream planning, delivery quality, issues/risks, scope and stakeholder alignment
  • Facilitate client workshops, interviews and collaboration forums across business, technology, operations, grid planning and regulatory groups
  • Identify and implement delivery improvements that increase quality, speed, transparency and client value
  • Develop and deliver status updates and communications
  • Manage resource demand, staffing and allocation
  • Define team member roles and expectations
  • Lead/manage quality assurance for team’s work products and service delivery to consistently deliver high quality
  • Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge and enhance client service delivery
  • Stay current with the latest trends in the industry to be a trusted advisor/subject-matter resource for our clients’ businesses
  • Participate in new business opportunities by developing ideas and solutions
  • Develop long-term relationships with networks both internally and externally
  • Enhance the EY brand through strong relationships across a network of existing and future clients
  • Mentor, coach and counsel team members and help EY to build an inclusive culture and develop high-performing teams
  • Support the EY inclusiveness culture
  • Flexibility and willingness to manage significant travel depending on time of year. Must have a valid driver’s license

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Proven business, consulting or technical experience in one or more digital grid domains: AMI, ADMS, OMS, SCADA, DRMS, DERMS, EMS, GIS, EV charging/electrification, DSM programs, or distributed energy enablement
  • For Manager: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of related work experience or a graduate degree and four years of related work experience
  • For Senior Consultant: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years of related work experience or a graduate degree and one year of related work experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, comfort presenting to leadership, and ability to form cohesive recommendations
  • Comfort with change, iteration and ambiguity and an ability to work with diverse stakeholders to identify solutions to complex utility challenges

 

*Vancouver / Toronto / Calgary and Winnipeg locations preferred.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience shaping customer strategy, DSM/DER programs, electrification readiness or customer platform modernization (CIS/CRM)
  • Experience leading teams, managing engagements or supporting business development
  • Experience delivering consulting services to Power & Utilities clients
  • Exposure to regulatory or policy environments related to electrification, DSM or DER integration
  • Familiarity with AMI or operational data platforms, interoperability, and analytics use cases

The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $90,000 to $140,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and work location city.
