Our Microsoft solutions group extends from advisory and planning, design and architecture, implementation, training, business adoption. With our extensive network of industry experts working across four service lines, EY is uniquely positioned as a leader in helping our clients capitalize on increasing customer and data-centric digital transformation strategies.
Your Key Responsibilities
EY Canada is seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Solution Architect - Finance, Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Commerce to join our dynamic consulting team. This pivotal role encompasses all stages of the solution lifecycle, from initial strategy formulation to design, through to deployment and ongoing optimization. As a Solution Architect, you will lead the development of complex solutions that transform our clients’ business operations.
Client Engagement and Requirements Analysis:
- Lead exploratory meetings to delve into the client's financial, supply chain, and commerce processes, uncovering key requirements.
- Conduct in-depth workshops to draw out both high-level business and intricate technical needs. Integration functional workstreams and solution designs to ensure alignment in solution design.
- Assess client requirements and business needs to propose tailored solutions leveraging the D365 Finance, SCM, and Commerce apps and Microsoft Platform technologies.
Solution Strategy and Architectural Design:
- Craft and articulate solution strategies that address the client's unique business challenges and goals.
- Collaborate with industry experts to ensure solutions are finely tuned to sector-specific demands.
- Offer authoritative guidance on the capabilities and constraints of Microsoft Dynamics 365, shaping client decision-making.
- Architect comprehensive solutions that integrate fluidly with the client's existing ecosystems and business flows.
Solution Configuration and Integration:
- Oversee configuration and customization of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, SCM, and commerce applications to align with project requirements.
- Engage with technical teams to validate technical feasibility and ensure the high performance of solutions.
- Coordinate with developers for complex customizations and system integrations, ensuring adherence to business goals.
- Address technical hurdles to streamline the solution implementation journey.
Project Oversight and Coordination:
- Work in tandem with project management to guarantee the punctual achievement of deliverables.
- Support project planning efforts, including resource distribution, and identifying potential project risks.
- Keep stakeholders informed with regular briefings on project status and any emerging issues.
Quality Assurance and Validation:
- Supervise the meticulous testing of configured solutions against client specifications.
- Direct the crafting of test cases and manage user acceptance testing (UAT) processes.
- Swiftly rectify any issues identified during testing phases.
Training Delivery and User Empowerment:
- Create and conduct training sessions, ensuring client SMEs are proficient in their understanding of how Dynamics 365 capabilities align to their business.
- Aid users during the initial live phase to facilitate a smooth transition and swift adoption of the system.
- Provide ongoing support post-deployment to encourage optimal system utilization.
Solution Deployment and Transition Management:
- Oversee the meticulous rollout of Dynamics 365 solutions in the client's setting.
- Ensure a seamless migration from legacy systems to the new Dynamics 365 environment.
- Address immediate post-deployment queries to ensure client satisfaction.
Continuous System Enhancement:
- Keep abreast of updates within the Dynamics 365 ecosystem.
- Proactively suggest and implement enhancements to maintain the relevance and efficiency of client solutions.
- Regularly review solutions to align with the clients' evolving business needs.
Collaborative Expertise Sharing:
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of architects, consultants, and industry authorities to ensure comprehensive solution development.
- Bridge the gap between technical and business stakeholders through clear communication.
- Contribute to the team's success by disseminating knowledge and adopting best practices.
To Qualify for the role, you must have:
Experience in Consulting and Solution Architecture:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in consulting environments with a focus on ERP solution delivery with strong emphasis on supply chain management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex Dynamics 365 Finance, SCM, and Commerce projects from conception to completion.
- Proven track record in solution architecture, with experience conducting requirements workshops, design sessions, and training initiatives.
Microsoft Certifications:
- Required certifications: Microsoft MB-300 Dynamics 365 Core Finance and Operations, MB-330 Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, and MB-700 Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Solution Architect.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with the latest Microsoft Dynamics 365 advancements and certifications.
Language and Communication Skills:
- Proficiency in English, with excellent spoken and written communication abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a proven history of successful client engagements and stakeholder management.
- Aptitude for collaborative work and an openness to engaging proactively with cross-functional teams and clients.
Analytical Skills:
- Advanced analytical capabilities, with the ability to dissect complex business scenarios and devise effective solutions.
- Proficiency in business process modeling using tools such as Visio, and a strong understanding of financial and operational data structures.
Technical Proficiency:
- Experience with Azure DevOps, showcasing skills in managing development pipelines and solution deployments.
- Familiarity with various software implementation and development methodologies, particularly Agile and Scrum frameworks.
- Expertise in configuring Dynamics 365 Finance, SCM, and Commerce modules to fulfill unique business needs.
Documentation Skills:
- Skilled in documenting complex functional requirements and technical specifications with clarity.
- Adept at creating comprehensive project documentation, including detailed user guides and training materials.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- A strong team player with a track record of effective collaboration with technical and project teams, including developers, other architects, and project managers.
- Experience in fostering a collaborative environment and bridging the communication gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.
Client-Facing Skills:
- Experienced in managing client relationships, setting realistic expectations, and delivering solutions that meet or exceed those expectations.
- Ability to articulate complex solutions in an understandable manner, tailored to client comprehension levels.
Additional Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of integrating Dynamics 365 with other essential business systems and applications for a seamless technological ecosystem.
- Broad understanding of the Microsoft ecosystem, including proficiency with Office 365, Azure services, and their integration with Dynamics 365.
Ideally you will also have:
- Work experience in a professional services environment a definite asset
- This role involves interaction with internal and external clients and professionals nationally and globally. Professional competency in the English language is therefore a requirement of this role. Bilingualism in both French and English is considered an asset.

The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $120,500 to $216,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and work location city.
