The opportunity


As an Assurance Senior Manager, you will be a professional member of the EY Private Client Services team.  Together with our substantial investments in technology, knowledge, and learning resources for our audit professionals, you will be part of the team that delivers quality assurance services to our clients and their stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities

As a Manager, you will focus exclusively on helping business owners and entrepreneurs take advantage of opportunities and address challenges unique to private companies. You will offer hands on personalized service of a boutique style firm coupled with the breadth of service offerings and brandy only a local network can provide. 

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Responsible for certain aspects of staff and partner training including course development and course instruction
  • Prepare and present seminars or informational fact sheet to clients on relevant accounting pronouncements
  • Respond to technical questions from all professional staff regarding accounting issues
  • Perform quality control reviews of both engagement files and financial statements
  • Conduct research on relevant issues, new standards and their application
  • Maintain up-to-date by reading associated literature and attending appropriate courses
  • Prepare comments on new standards issued by the CPA Canada
  • Interact with EY Professional Practice for the exchange of information

 

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Experience in presentation of internal training courses and/or external presentations
  • Strong technical background in ASPE, GAAP, GAAS and audit methodology
  • Asset to have: US GAAP or IFRS
  • A self-starter with organizational and project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Works well under pressure with limited supervision
  • Completion of the CPA, CA designation

  • The ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic team-oriented environment
