The opportunity


As a Senior Manager, Banking Technology Strategy, you have a deep understanding of our clients’ technology, but also an appreciation for their product and business, enabling you to make strategic recommendations that support their vision in both a profitable and scalable way. With your seasoned technology and business acumen, combined with proven experience in developing strategies and leading the delivery of large and complex technology transformation programs, you provide C-suite Technology Advisory thought leadership, and to engagement teams to ensure the successful delivery of advisory and subsequent consulting engagements. Domains in scope  encompass the latest in technologies, including Data, AI, Cloud, Systems Integration, and Risk Technology / Architectures to deliver market-leading platforms across our clients. Furthermore, your expertise will span multiple clients in financial services industry to help identify opportunities, develop industry-leading recommendations, and support the growth of our business

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Build a Technology Strategy practice, sell Technology Strategy Engagements and Manage Technology Strategy Engagements
  • Build Technology Strategy client relationships with banking executives, build trust quickly, and has a track record of high client satisfaction
  • Elicit and evaluate clients’ needs and wants, such as strategic vision, business objectives, processes, requirements, current strategy and external factors including industry trends and benchmarks
  • Develop Technology Strategies that align with and futher enable clients’ priorities, are pragmatic, and lead to the achievement of tangible business benefits and outcomes
  • Create and share Technology Strategy communications (written and verbal) to all levels of stakeholders from executive leadership, product owners, business and technology teams
  • Act as a trusted advisor to our clients as well as our engagement team to provide delivery leadership
  • Own program estimations by leading to size relative efforts, identify gaps, dependencies, assumptions, and all key requirements
  • Participate in or lead business development activities, from opportunity identification, qualification, scoping, solutioning, proposal writing, presentations and demonstrations
  • Lead teams in large transformation initiatives as technical leader, providing technical oversight, mentorship, and influential leadership to peers.

  • Ability to translate technical concepts to a non-technical audience to articulate business value
  • Ability to facilitate collaboration across business and technology domains
  • Ability to define strategic roadmaps to pursue target states through realistic interim states and migration plans
  • Ability to understand, question, and document key priorities, considerations, and critical success factors through client interactions
  • Provide technical recommendations based on critical objective analysis
  • Demonstrate ability to understand the rapidly evolving landscape of technology along with why and how they can be applied to real world scenarios
  • Ability to decompose technical concept as required to mentor other junior members of the team
  • Demonstrate ownership and responsibility for created solutions for clients as if they were your own to build and maintain
  • Demonstrate technical eminence and inspire those around you to raise the team’s overall skill level
  • Bring a positive and encouraging attitude in all problems and challenges you face each day

 

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: computer science, engineering, MIS, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in transformation leadership role in banking industry
  • Experience in working with key domains and platforms such as CORE banking, risk management, customer information systems, channel and distribution, etc. in banking and financial services industry
  • Software engineering experience and deep understanding leveraging design patterns
  • Demonstrated ability to create, present, and provide feedback to detailed technical solutions
  • Solid understanding of the design thinking, software development lifecycle, agile delivery principles and tools/frameworks (e.g. Atlassian stack or similar, Git)
  • Good understanding of release management along with continuous integration/continuous delivery practices


Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Professional certifications (PMP)
