EY Canada's Digital Operations practice aims to be a partner in our clients' transformation journey and deliver a bold re-imagination of their business through the power of Industry 4.0. The ideal candidate has experience with Industry 4.0 technologies in support of digital transformation and a desire to use that experience to scale EY's practice within a start-up environment. We are looking for that rare blend of strategic vision and technical depth that is intrinsically motivated to continuously adapt and work on emerging technologies that drive breakthrough performance improvement for our clients. 


Your key responsibilities


As a Digital Operations leader, you'll contribute to client engagements related to digital transformation and Industry 4.0 strategy and implementation across the firm for various industry sectors including but not limited to Manufacturing, Mining, Oil & Gas and Power & Utilities. An important part of your role will be to actively architect digital transformation roadmap for our clients. As a leader of the team, you'll help to create a positive learning culture, coach and counsel junior team members and help them develop as Industry 4.0 strategy and implementation consultants. Other key responsibilities include

  • Provide thought leadership on Industry 4.0 concepts and technologies to our clients from various industries
  • Articulate the value at stake from digital operations transformation to our clients
  • Gather requirements and problem statements and translate I4.0 technical concepts into business benefits for our clients
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of consultants, technologists, and client personnel to design and deliver scalable Industry 4.0 technology solutions, ranging from POVs to MVPs to full scale deployments
  • Develop content and knowledge base of Industry 4.0 use cases to support our Go to Market strategy
  • Develop relationships with vendor/partner ecosystems, EY Innovation Centers and EY Centres of Excellence in support of knowledge sharing, joint innovation, and service delivery
  • Be a visible champion for Digital Operations transformation and scale the business by integrating with account management and business development mechanisms
  • Build the firm's delivery capabilities through recruiting, training, and people development and by incorporating Industry 4.0 solutions into delivery toolkits 


Practice and People Development:

  • Support the development of leading practice at EY
  • Create a positive team environment and provide coaching and support for junior staff
  • Support senior management with practice development activities such as recruiting 


To qualify for the role you must have

  • 10+ years in the industry (manufacturing/mining/energy) in various roles or significant experience in academic and translational research related to Industry 4.0
  • 5+ years of experience in designing innovative enterprise wide, scalable Industry 4.0 solutions using technologies such as IIoT, cloud computing, computer vision, augmented reality, virtual reality
  • Advanced graduate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Familiarity with enabling infrastructure requirements (equipment connectivity, data models, enterprise architecture, MES integration etc.) and impacts on workforce, processes, and financial performance
  • Very strong project/program management experience with focus on Agile methodologies
  • Experience working with modern cloud compute solutions including Infrastructure and Platform as a service. This includes solution architecture development using major cloud providers for an industrial enterprise setting
  • Experience with implementing, configuring, and customizing Industrial IoT platforms and edge computing devices for manufacturing and/or mining companies
  • Experience in leveraging Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) technologies for manufacturing and/or mining industry use cases
  • Experience working with various database products, both SQL and NoSQL based
  • Digital curiosity and a continuous learning mindset 


Ideally, you'll also have

  • Academic publications or white papers on Industry 4.0 technologies and use cases
  • Good understanding of North American Industry 4.0 technology providers' market 
  • Experience implementing ERP or MES solutions for manufacturing companies
  • Experience designing automation solutions using collaborative robots and AGVs/AIVs
  • Experience or advanced understanding of machine vision systems
