The Opportunity 

As a Senior Consultant within our Banking Technology practice, we are seeking a highly motivated Python Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable Python applications, with a particular focus on data processing, analytics, and automation solutions.

This role will support data-driven initiatives through the development of efficient data pipelines, business solutions, and reporting capabilities while collaborating closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and technology teams.

Your Key Responsibilities 

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Python applications and data solutions.
• Build and optimize data processing workflows using Python and Pandas.
• Develop ETL/ELT processes to collect, transform, and load data from multiple sources.
• Analyze large datasets and deliver actionable insights.
• Create reusable, scalable, and maintainable code following best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application and data-related issues.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop technical documentation and knowledge-sharing materials.
• Prepare deliverables including documentation, reports, and client presentations 

Skills and Attributes for Success 

• Experience in lending domain (retail, commercial, or corporate lending)
• Strong understanding of lending lifecycle: origination, credit assessment, underwriting, servicing
• Familiarity with loan platforms and banking systems
• Understanding of system integration, APIs, and data flows
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills 

What We Look For 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in Python development.
• Strong proficiency in:
  • Python
  • Pandas
  • SQL
  • Data manipulation and transformation

Ideally, You’ll Also Have 

Experience with:

• NumPy
• Polars
• PySpark
• Scikit-learn
• FastAPI or Flask
• Azure Data Factory
• Azure Databricks
• Microsoft Azure
• Power BI
• Knowledge of cloud-based data architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized applications.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Understanding of data governance and data quality principles.

Previous experience in financial services, banking, or lending environments is considered a strong asset.

Familiarity with banking data, financial products, risk, credit, or regulatory reporting processes is a plus.

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.  

• Toronto: $90,500 to $136,000
